Re: Friday, June 15, Sydney - Demori v Weida
Not a bad night, de Mori KO'ed Weida in the 2nd round. Weida looked like a 50 year old X Mundine opponent.
Some guy named Peter got into the ring - challenged de Mori after the fight, Think he was some Kickboxing champion.
Kariz got the nod over Burke in a close fight.
Shane Quinn won by UD.
Jack Brubaker won by UD.

I was the bloke with the leather jacket. I was chatting to the time keeper before he moved to his spot.
Anybody know who that "Peter" dickhead was? I thought de Mori was very polite not telling him to fornicate off.

Was it Peter Graham?

Re: Friday, June 15, Sydney - Demori v Weida
Looks like him. Punchinello chin, high opinion of himself. Mark might have to fight him. Fighters he is supposed to fight in the USA keep coming down with mysterious injuries.crusader wrote:Was it Peter Graham?

Peter Graham would actually be a step up from Demori's last fight.
Re: Friday, June 15, Sydney - Demori v Weida
That would not take much. Like to see Mark fight somebody younger though. Graham is 37 this year.
Not much younger than Weida.

Two possibilities:
1. It was a set up.
2. He was too big to argue with.

Were you arguing with some guy with a cap on?(Or vice versa) You have no hair.Brute wrote:I was the bloke with the leather jacket. I was chatting to the time keeper before he moved to his spot.

I wasn't arguing with anybody. I am thin on top. I was wearing a checked shirt and chinos. Only blokes with caps on I saw in the club were Police.

Re: Friday, June 15, Sydney - Demori v Weida
Is DeMori any good? I've never watched him but fighting the likes of Weida and the current Calloway don't inspire much confidence. On the other hand, didn't Don King show an interest in DeMori at one point? The Don knows good and/or marketable talent when he sees it.
Re: Friday, June 15, Sydney - Demori v Weida
Demori is still signed with King. He has talent just needs to get some big fights.
Re: Friday, June 15, Sydney - Demori v Weida
King warehouses fighters. He uses them when it suits him.
de Mori has not lost a fight since 2004. Boxers tend to find reasons not to fight him. He has a KO punch and is very elusive.
His current record is 19-1-2 with 17 KOs.

And so he should be fighting better opponents than Weida and Calloway, who even in his younger days was cannon fodder for a then-novice Audley Harrison.Brute wrote:His current record is 19-1-2 with 17 KOs.
Not seeking to be overly critical if he's a genuine talent. In fact, if he is a genuine talent then more's the pity he's not getting better work.

There are hundreds and hundreds of heavyweights ranked ahead of Weida and Calloway and they are not all finding reasons not to fight him.Brute wrote:King warehouses fighters. He uses them when it suits him.

Most of them wouldn't even know who he is

Then again, maybe they are not as ignorant as you are. Boxers had a good grapevine long before the internet.
Oh, I am sorry, you belong to the cultural cringe don't you? One of those people who think nothing Australian can be as good as anything foreign, is
that your story?![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

You are someone who assumes too much. Probably why you parted with $75 thinking you'd get your moneys worth. Only to see an old unranked yank get a floggingBrute wrote:Then again, maybe they are not as ignorant as you are. Boxers had a good grapevine long before the internet.

I like some of your work though Brute. Just not your over rating of this underachiever.

Perhaps I have more disposable income than you do. I own my own house outright and bought a new car for cash last year.
