Promoters owning both fighters

With tonights big match up between Munroe/Quigg being kept in-house, and on the back of last week's Top Rank scandal I feel that promoters owning both fighters in boxing should be outlawed by the the relevant governing bodies.

Nothing against Hatton personally in this situation, but I just think it is wrong that the promoter should benefit entirely by keeping all the money inhouse.

Promoters should be forced to work together to make sure the best fights happen, as opposed to paper rankings and joke champions bringing down our sport. Hennessey, allegedly, Hearn, Hatton and the rest should all be made to make the best fights happen rather than promote self interest instead of the fans interest.

Would you not class Quigg VS Munroe as a top domestic fight ? I agree that promoters should be made to put the best fights on, but can you really say that having the same promotor is causing an issue ?. Do you think Quigg VS Munroe would have been made at this stage had Hatton not promoted both.

I don't support this idea at all. Firstly, if there is two good fighters under one promoter it is a hell of lot easier to make the fight. Fights like Pacquiao / Cotto, Khan / Maidana, Canelo / Mosley, Cotto / Margarito. Those fights have been made a hell of lot easier to make. On the point of the money being kept in house.

Secondly, what difference does that make, just because one promoter gets to keep the money because the promoter is putting two of his fighters against each and is probably loosing in the long run also because he will have to build the loser back up.

Hatton was doing the fans a favour tonight. He was giving us a good fight between two good fighters and he could have easily put them on different routes but instead they fought each other.

If you made a list of fights in history where both guys were managed or promoted by the same person/promotional tag, then you'd have a document reminiscent of the yellow pages.

What if they a manager of them too. Totally agree as they cant be doing the best for both parties.
