The Emanuele Della Rosa V Nasser Al Harbi Fight 16/06/2012
I thought it was great performance by Nasser, shorter notice then normal, coming off a virus and swollen Glands, in his first 12 rounder, only having done 7 before and going into the lions den of Rome, to fight the current world number 7 Emanuele Della Rosa and current WBC International champion, who's only defeat came by way of split decision for the WBC silver world title, in Germany to Sebastian Zbik, next Della Rosa is going to the USA to fight for the world title again. The WBC are now recommending Nasser for a world ranking for his efforts, I had the fight by 4 rounds to Nasser, but what was more important was the performance at a higher level.

Thank you men. Look forward to watching this when I get time.
Re: The Emanuele Della Rosa V Nasser Al Harbi Fight 16/06/2012
Have watched this now on you tube. Not a bad performance from Al harbi at this stage of his career. Thought the result was fair enough with Della Rosa ahead by 4 or maybe 5 rounds in my opinion. Interesting to see where Al harbi goes from this point, his lack of power may be his undoing in the long run I think, I think perhaps a few more fights at domestic level would benefit his long term development although I suppose that could be seen as a backward step following on from this fight.
Re: The Emanuele Della Rosa V Nasser Al Harbi Fight 16/06/2012
Judging by your previos posts, expected ! Some people won't admit when they are wrong and some carry grudges, so will never be won over, we have been messaged by so many people who thought we had won, you come on here and think he lost by 5 or 6 rounds, that "it was it was not a bad performance", for a 22 year old with only 14 fights to his name against a fighter who is now rated 7th in the world, has fought for a world championship in germany only losing to the champ on a split decision and now going to the USA to fight for another title. The WBC seemed to be impressed that's why they are recomending a world ranking for Nas, good job you are not on the WBC panel, he would be demoted lol. I guess you willl back when Nasser is on here again, I will put your comments on facebook to amuse the people on there.coachster wrote:Have watched this now on you tube. Why do you take every comment as a personal slight on you or your boxer? Just gave an honest opinion on what I saw. Also pointed out that it was a decent performance by a young fighter still learning his trade, why are you so angry about everything??????
Re: The Emanuele Della Rosa V Nasser Al Harbi Fight 16/06/2012
You could be right Macho about power developing a bit further for Al Harbi. I dunno that it will improve massively as he is 23 now and in terms of maturity I wouldn't expect it to increase dramatically. Even with training geared up to improving the power ratio it would be difficult to see him become a concussive puncher and without that power it is very very difficult to cut it at the top level. I thought he boxed a good performance just didnt think he did enough to win this time. Good luck to the lad hope he does well in the future.
Re: The Emanuele Della Rosa V Nasser Al Harbi Fight 16/06/2012
You know what Machoman good post, I agree with a lot of what you said, it's something I have discussed with Nasser many times and we are trying to remedy it, a lot of it is down to him trying to be too technically correct and too straight, I suppose the transfer from Am to Pro, but look on you tube at his old fights and compare it to now, big difference, but still a long way to go, we do a lot of core work now, when he was younger we had to be careful what we did on the strength side has he was starting to get back problems, but now his body is settling down, so we are now able to push the boundries more, testiment to that was his improvements in the fight last saturday, Della Rosa has good chin and he admitted after that accuracy and power from Nas was there. Looking forward to the future now.MachoMan09 wrote:I think Nasser did enough to win. He boxed well.
The "power issue" can, to some extent, be remedied. There is a clear bio-mechanical disconnect between his lower body and upper body when he's throwing his shots - in other words, he's not getting anywhere near as much out of his legs as he could do. He needs his hips and core sorting out to increase the amount of whip he gets into his shots. People often question why Tommy Hearns couldn't knock people out as an amateur but was lethal as a pro; in addition to natural physical maturing, he drilled himself in training to get 'whippy'. Another example of someone who had that problem and sorted it out to devastating effect is Pat Barrett.

Why start a new thread? Why not just post the link in the other thread you started on Sunday?
I downloaded a DVD of it, I'll watch it this week.

I will tell you why, many people wanted to watch the fight, people, who got frozen out whilst watching the live streams and people who did not see it at all ,so I thought if I started a new thread indicating that the fight was on it, I would be helping people to see it, we also did it on facebook, to which we have had compliments and gratitude, but you can't please them all can you ?orbtastic wrote:Why start a new thread? Re: The Emanuele Della Rosa V Nasser Al Harbi Fight 16/06/2012
Actually said 4 maybe 5 (have another look). Its just an opinion based on my interpretation of the fight. The judges all saw it that way as well albeit not quite as wide as that so I dont see why you are so indignant to the concept. Why dont you focus on the positives from it and build up your boxers career off the back of it? Ultimately the way to prove any of the "doubters"( as you would call them) wrong is to go and win a decent title. If you do that and prove me wrong I will acknowledge your achievements and i wish your boxer every luck in getting there.5 or 6 rounds down your having laugh or taking the piss, be serious !

If not, don't bother trying to draw me into an incoherent and nonsensical argument, I've neither the time nor patience for it today.

Do you not think they should doubt his ability after that performance ? I think that proves he is up there, not the finished article yet but up there.coachster wrote:Actually said 4 maybe 5 (have another look). Its just an opinion based on my interpretation of the fight. sweet god are you still ramming this down everyones throats?

Re: The Emanuele Della Rosa V Nasser Al Harbi Fight 16/06/2012
i scored it 2 rounds to della rosa
neither looked stand out to me and both are probably euro/fringe world class potential at best

Re: The Emanuele Della Rosa V Nasser Al Harbi Fight 16/06/2012
Disagree with the first part, but 2 rounds is close, so respect your opinion, second part is a good compliment for one so young and inexperienced, I would settle for Euro/Fringe at present and world class at his peak in a few years time would do nicely.axelf45 wrote:i scored it 2 rounds to della rosa

Not doubt but still need convincing. When he has beaten someone of note with a decent record then perhaps we can start being true believers!!Do you not think they should doubt his ability after that performance ?
Re: The Emanuele Della Rosa V Nasser Al Harbi Fight 16/06/2012
Just seen fight. Good show Nas. Very good performance.Stuck at it till the end lots of energy. I would say at British title level. Lots of the rounds were even and the problem with even rounds in a foreign country is that you don't win the rounds. It was a case of volume vs big punches. Well done Saf. Good work on the cut!. Only thing is what next after that? you cant go back to fighting the likes of Jamie Ball at English title eliminators.
