FFS SKY SPORTS! WHY??

Post by loaded_gloves »

Anybody find the sudden inclusion of this pretty girl with a microphone running around the arena interviewing fans slightly patronising? Show me fights and let me hear what some articulate ex-fighters think of the result. I do not need to know the thoughts of some drunken piss heads in the crowd, anymore than I need a ditsy pair of tits with a mike in her hand to hold my attention.

What next, off brand reality TV 'celebrity' guests? Morons tweeting their thoughts on screen and Skype chats? I fornicating hate all these layers of mechanics producers feel they need to layer onto shows in order to make people watch.

Charlie Webster who is normally on Sky Sports news you mean, while it offers somethign a bit different talking to the fans etc. I do sometimes prefer hearing what Messers McCrory and Nelson are saying about what has to say. One thing I will say about Miss Webster

http://www.skysports.com/skysportsnews/ ... 94,00.html. She knows her stuff and she is also

Nowt wrong wi having a good Yorkshire lass ont telly.

That said, interviewing the crowd is a waste of time and did make it a frustrating watch. Having the betting guy on all the time might make sense when a betting firm are sponsoring it but it makes bad TV. The small majority who want to bet after every round are quite able to go online and get prices, we don't need someone telling us prices he's made up on the spot with a warning that "prices may vary depending on source" written across the screen.

She brought nothing to the show - NOTHING - it was a pointless addition that seemed patronising in the extreme. She was there for one reason only, one reason insulting to her and us.

We don't shove fat sweaty boxers into these endless Fearne Cotton and Caroline Flack celebrity reality vehicles, so don't shove one of these wittering idiots into our scant boxing shows. How many more personality devoid pretty girls do we need launching their presenter careers?

She knew her stuff though and has always been involved in boxing, which makes your comment idiotic

Was it on Fury's debut as I seem to have some recollection of this?

You could be right. Didn't tyson have a little dance behind them or eat some confetti or both.

What, so someone who 'knows their stuff' is all the criteria you need to appear on a boxing show now? Christ, why don't they just build a massive long panel and have all of us lined up at it so we can chip in our two pence?

Oh that's right, they wouldn't do that because ultimately no one watching a TV show wants to know our opinion. And why should they? Why do we need this girl running around in her heels quoting whatever she read about the fighters on wikipedia as she tries launch a mainstream presenting career? What has she done in boxing to justify her being there? It's just ridiculous. Know her stuff? I'm sure she could speak at length about Monzon, Foster, Arguello, Pryor, Napoles, couldn't she?
