Attention: Can YOU help us identify any of these pugilists?

Post by BoxBuzz »

Ok many hands (or eyes in this case) make for light work. If you can identify any of these guys, it would be very helpful!!!

Thanks in advance!

Im pretty sure unknown 1948, the boxer on the left is Gus Lesnevich.

I suspect unknown 101 is Eugene Criqui

unknown 48 is likely Albert Alcouffe

Tron questions whether #74 (since deleted) is indeed Besmanoff:

Because this is an actual photo of Besmanoff:

Are we certain the 1st image is of him? The two images are kinda similar, particularly the ears.

#74 wasnt besmanoff, the photo TO THE RIGHT of 74 was Besmanoff.

"...no # on right of #74 is willie besmanoff hope this helps"

Ok...great, very helpful both of you, we'll put you two in charge of "irrelevant posts".

I'm going to lock this one up since Ric has taken this idea and posted it as a sticky.

Now if either of you visit that thread, be SURE and leave some information that is pertinent to the topic. Or I will be very disappointed.

Here is a hyperlink for your convenience.
