Larry namechecked them both in his other thread.

It's public domain, why should it not be discussed?

Posting an article with a source is fine, IMHO.

It's just a shame that we all seem to be talking about drugs rather than the boxing.

Go and read the thread about this on Eastside - it's immediately apparent that Tony's situation is easily explainable and is in no way, shape or form as bad as this thread is implying.

Im surprised Toure is the only footballer on the list. Channel 4 I think did an expose on it and named numerous other fottball players.

What I find amazing is there's umpteen rugby league players and yet not a single rugby union player in there (altho Matt Stevens got done for cocaine a few years back.) There seems to be an unbelievable steroid culture in the North west and it seems it's either spilt over into rugby league or rugby league is a big contributor to it.

I dont know about everyone else but I just see this list getting longer & longer now the governing bodies (both sides of the atlantic) have realised that there could be a problem.

Dodson was found with this in his system: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylhexanamine

Dunstan was found with this in his system: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephedrine

What's the story on Dodson? He was taking a nasal decongestant? Or was he using it in order to lose weight?

Dodson inadvertently took an off-the-shelf product called hemo rage (sold in GNC, health shops) and its supposed to give trainers a boost without being full of calories. So perfect for those dieting, but still needing to have some energy to train.

It's got a caffeine-like ingredient called MHA in it. You find it in nasal sprays and in flu remedies. MHA combats the drowsy side effects they can give you.

far from a 'steroid'.

Yeah, looking closer, Larry Olubamiwo's situation is very, very different to Dodson and Dunstans. The the length of the bans given show that, too.

much as i understand how much more dangerous a 'steroid' is compared to a 'stimulant'......

there is still no place in sport for either. if a drug (ephedrine) helps weight loss then it gives a boxer an unfair advantage over someone who is training hard and starving themselves of calories to 'make weight'.

claiming it was/is an uninententional ingestion taken without prior knowledge is either totally innocent or smoke and mirrors.

no one will know which, therefore the powers that be have to make their stance.

if its in your body, then you are guilty, regardless of how it has got there. as a professional sportsman who knows he might be subject to drug testing. you should know exactly what is in products you take.

Eastside boxing is awful these days. Seems to be frequented by too many idiots.
