I would advise anyone to upgrade to SKY+, it is simply wicked.

I record so much boxing and it is so easy to use - there is loads of late night stuff on and boxing on Bravo and BEN...

Only costs £99 I believe. Well worth it.

For anyone who doesn't fancy SKY+, get up in your loft and put in a digital areal and buy a digibox.
I watch boxing and Champions league on ITV2 for free and can still have the skybox tuned to any other channel, so that we can watch 2 channels @ the same time.
A bit of choice and some extra channels to watch upstairs. well worth it.

I've heard that if you existing Sky customer and you phone up the subscriptions cancellation department and threaten to cancel your Sky, they will like beg for you to reconsider. I have heard that if you say "well do me a deal on a Sky plus" they will get you a new box fully installed for 50 quid.

I haven't done it yet, but looking into trying to buy one from ebay and installing it myself. Its a rip off watch they charge exisiting "old" digital customers to upgrade.

Record one Sky channel, watch another.

It has a 20 hour Hard disk space (new version have an 80 hour). You can record programmes on the Hard drive and store for aslong as you want and playback accordingly - heard has a super fast fast forward.

Play back live TV whilst still recording.

All different kinds of recording stuff, like series link etc.

Quite a number of things, those with a Sky+ will tell you more.

The times they are a changin

and because i sky+ed the Calzaghe fight on Saturday and it ran over, I missed half the fight, which now sounds like a blessing.

Having problems with my pause and rewind live tv at the moment, isn't working properly. Anyone else experienced this?

That's the only thing that bugs me if a show over runs it misses it.

Right - the way to get around this (and this is a bit of a messy hack) is to record the programme after it as well.

This way if a programme overuns (especially useful for sports), you catch the end of it on the next recording, as it just continues recording straight after.

Yes that's what I intend to do for the boxing from now on
