british heavyweight super8 tournament?

Post by thatllbeme »

would a super8 tournament work in the uk? would the promotors be able to work together to make it happen? what fighters would take part? i know the likes of price, fury, chisora and haye wouldnt want any part but i think some of the others would! harrison, skelton, sexton, sprott, williams, dallas, towers, mcdermott, rogan any others? it would be good to get the all well known fighters like the 9 ive named but i doubt they would all want to take part

I don`t think they`d get away with calling it "Super" 8, maybe "Mediocre at best 8"?

:OhYes:

X2 It couldn't be Super 8 without the top 4 Heavy Weights in the country, why not have the rest of the manes in a Prizefighter again.....

How about a Prizefighter Reunion? Four winners of the all-UK heavyweight tournies and bring back some notable past participants.

Rogan v Sexton v Harrison v Sprott v Skelton v Baker v McBride v Dallas

I don't think it would be a bad idea, personally.

Could have the quarters over six, semis over 8 and then the final over ten rounds, perhaps as a British title eliminator or something?

Re Dallas, was thinking of an all-British tourney so ruled out Perez; also he hardly impressed but that was a fun brawl vs Little.

i would rather see a tournament at other weights like a british super six middle weight: murray v barker v macklin v lee v hope v saunders
or a 4 way tournament between quigg munroe frampton galahad
although promotional issues would prevent these sadly

Dallas shouldn't get in a boxing ring again.

I've never seen a fighter react as badly to being hit as he does... and his chin is awful too.

Makes Enzo Mac seem like Marvin Hagler.
