Povetkin v Rahman off Haye-Chisora bill

I wonder how this afffects TV production costs.
Sauerland were, after all, the show's promoters and it was ARD that were underwriting much of the cost for an outside boardcast production.
I think most who believe this fight was only on to put on another attractions for fans are completely missing the point. Allegedly channel underwriting everything now.

Thats a big cost for them. They going to need to spend a lot on advertising to get a decent number of subcribers it aint get the sky sports plug.

It's fine with me Povetkin-Rahman off this bill, would have been a terrible fight and neither man deserve to fight in a Heavyweight title fight.

Nice reason for cancellation in principle, but this promotion was announced 2.5 months ago and it's not until 2.5 weeks before that they realise there would be a TV scheduling conflict? Please.

95% or more of the ticket buyers are buying solely for the main event. They could put a bumfight and some primary school judo on the undercard and it would make no difference to the show's profitability, so any "expensive" matches to stage on the undercard would only lower the profit margin.

I thought it would have added some intrigue to the bill - a chance for Povetkin to show his skills infront of English fans.... dare I say the type of fan that seems to have bought the hype of the main event* might still remember Rahman vs Lewis 1 like it was yesterday and it could have made for interesting hype for Haye (assuming he beats Chisora) vs Povetkin (when he beats Rahman).

*I mean how this is being hyped as something a lot more than 2 European Level fighters, one who has lost 3 of his last 4 and the other who has stunk the place out in 3 of his last 4 and involved in toegate.

Whilst Rahman doesn't deserve to be near a world class fighter at this stage - I think its a good fight to promote Povetkin as someone who can geniunally threaten Haye and Chisora.
