i like paul appleby but the way he fights he is going to do himself some damage. that was a bad KO. simpson looked very good.

Impressive stoppage by Simpson - hopefully he gets a fight with Liam Walsh I would like to see that - Ormond wouldnt be a bad fight either.

Appleby starting to worry me, looking semi-shot already at 24, face-first defence just isn't working for the lad. Time for a looong break, he could give it a year if I'm honest, let his brain and body recover as he's been in some brutal fights. It really is time for him to go back to the drawing board with his style and his whole boxing outlook, he is FAR too easy to hit and he has started to look a little bit more vulnerable and chinny - warning signs for me.

Just back courtesy of the sun (1st time ringside!)
got in for the last round of collins vs naylor (39-38). Roberts fight was quite entertaining. Thain looked good but has no power. Gary mcmillan put in a good performance and had mccauley down -maybe has more power thanhis record suggests. Simmons fight was boring and his opponent never looked in trouble. Harrison looked like he was at least 11 stone - get him in with a brit level fighter to see how it goes.
As for simpson (my fave fighter) what a performance - he destroyed appleby (i like appleby but a ko like that has been long coming - the boy doesn't move his head). Any doubts about if he still has it are gone. I'd imagine he will be primed for a shot at buckland or walsh now.
Commiserations to paul and billy but john was different class! Reminded me of morris III in some ways.

Completely agree, he needs a good year off from the sport and then see how he feels. His body needs a real rest. There was no defense there tonight.TheCobra wrote:Appleby starting to worry me, looking semi-shot already at 24, face-first defence just isn't working for the lad.
