Thought this warranted it's own thread as I'm coming at this from a different angle. I haven't seen his fight last night but by all accounts he looked very good. I'm not asking how far he can go, but how well would he have done had he got the big fights at Featherweight.
I'v today watched on youtube Harrison v Brodie. First thing that struck me was how big Harrison was, it's been a few years now since I'v seen him fight and obviously I remember he was famed as a big drainer, but even knowing that it struck me watching the fight. In the commentary Ian Darke said something that I thought would be a decent point of discussion here. He said 'Harrison is in everybodies top 5 Featherweights in the World.' Now I really took issue with this because at the time Harrison was in his pomp, Featherweight and Light Welterweight were the 2 buzz divisions. Both were absolutely stacked with talent. I immediately off the top of my head thought Morales, Barerra, Marquez, Pacquiao and In Jin Chi were all either at Featherweight or could certainly fight at Featherweight at the time (the 2003-2005 time frame.)
What are peoples thought on Darkes comment? Am I being unfair? Would Harrison have faired ok with these guys between 2003 and 2005? I always rated Harrison but rated the 5 guys I mentioned very highly at the time.
Discuss.
Scott Harrison
Re: Scott Harrison
How did he win last night?
Its tough 2 judge if he would have beaten the guys listed below as Scott didn't always prepare properly for fights. I don't think he would have Morales, Barrera etc but that's just my opinion.

Re: Scott Harrison
I imagine that Barerra, Morales, Marquez and Manny would have beaten Scott at their best; around that time though there were some funny blips in form. Harrison was much moree than a big bully but I think he'd have been finessed and maybe busted up by those 4 in excellent bouts. Chi was a pretty raw boned and strong man; a bout with Scott would have been fight of the year.
(I'm glad he's back and doing ok; Harrison came across well in the interview after the bout and was straight and honest. Best of luck to him).
