Chris Eubank Jnr v Terry Carruthers
Just seen on Terry's FaceBook page that this has been made for Saturday night. Good fight for Terry, who is coming off an upset, and career best win over Adnan Amar, and was in training to fight Nick Quigley.

Re: Chris Eubank Jnr v Terry Carruthers
Terry is better at light middle, but I still think he will give Eubank more trouble then anyone else has before, mainly because of his work rate and aggression, interesting ?
Re: Chris Eubank Jnr v Terry Carruthers
Eubank is being fast tracked and has fought a lot of tough opponents , I think his father wants him to be ready for the big fights ahead by matching him early with tough tests, if he does not slip up on the way could turn out to be a good plan of action.

Re: Chris Eubank Jnr v Terry Carruthers
I know Terry well and he has always under achieved (especially with nobby) for the level of ability he has until recently. Terry is a big strong lad (ex body builder) and genuinely just loves fighting and if he lures you into a brawl there is a very good chance you will lose. Eubank needs to keep well away and box Tel from the outside and work his way in. Only good technical boxers will beat Terry these days.
Re: Chris Eubank Jnr v Terry Carruthers
Massive credit to the team for making such an attractive and challenging match. eubank is being matched as hard, if not harder, than any prospect i can think of.

He also lost and drew with Andy Cosnett in their 2 bouts ,bigped wrote:This guy terry got stopped of eubanks last opponent. step backwards?
But from what i gather he was only a young lad in those days , and is vastly improved .
I saw him beat adnan Amar , wasnt sure if Adnan was just crap that night or if Curruthers did really well .
Either way its a good match on paper for Eubank who is a relative novice , much tougher matchmaking than most in his position get .
if i remember rightly Jon Pegg did his corner when he boxed Adnan so maybe he will be able to elighten us all a bit more about how far hes come on since those earlier days .
someone mentioned earlier if its made into a scrap then it suits terry and he has to box someone more technical if hes to be beaten , well i wouldnt call Adnan Amar a brawler and Curruther dealt with him , and with ease too in my opinion .
cant grumble at all in how Eubank is being brought along so far , would be nice to see more of our prospects be matched in thesame vein

I'd call Amar Chinny. I remember Dean Hickman delivering a chilling K.O at Dudley town hall some years ago. The ringside doctor at the time said he couldn't find a pulse for about 10 seconds and there was an awful panic for a moment. I also don't think Amar was 100% when Tel fought him. Also Terry being much improved may have something to do with it. Pretty sure I saw Cosnett v Carruthers too, was it one of Pats shows at the Burlington?

Losing to Cosnett is a completely different world to beating Amar in my opinion , on that alone id say he must have improved a lot since then .

Was about to say that. Prospect fights a .500 journeyman = "Toughest route to the top I've seen in ages!"
S'like British boxing is in a parallel dimension. We accuse the Yanks of living in a bubble but sometimes I wonder.

Yeah Japan especially is ridiculous for matching guys hard. Ryosuke Iwasa is another, and whilst he has lost his 0 look who he lost it to, Shinsuke Yamanaka (the current WBC Bantamweight champion), Oguni faced Roli Gasca in his 7th bout, Shuhei Tsuchiya started his career with 7 unbeaten opponents in his first 8 fights (almost all of his opponents have had winning records).

Terry has improved a lot and is a work in progress, from 18 to about 23 he just did his own thing and was put in with guys he knew nothing about and just used natural ability to fight.
Now hes matured a lot mentally and trains properly and with a goal lots of bd habits are being slowly got rid off and you can see in last couple of years he has upped his level of opponents and done a lot better.for example
Brian rose (british champ) lost by two points away very good hard fight.
Kreshnik Quato (came in half a stone heavy took fight anyway) Most people there hd terry winning that fight its on youtube see what you think.
Steve Omeara (top ten level fighter) boxing news had terry just winning good fight.
Martin Robins (7.1 record) Terry won every round boxed very well.
Adnan Amar (25.2 former english champ) Had him down twice maybe three times really got on top here.
Liam Smith (unbeaten prospect) TOnly blotch on his record a draw with Carruthers and he does look very good.
Steve Harkin (was unbeaten at time just won a masters in great fight) Beat him first time recieved a controversial draw the second where most hd him winning.
Terry has had a couple of blips along the way but is improving and working the whole time. A tough fight saturday but the fight he had lined up fell through and Terry is not one to shy away from a challenge so we took this one so the training doesnt go to waste and to stay on the boil.

He had a war with Harry Matthews too iirc on one of Steve goodwins early shows I did. Was right in that one till Matthews stopped him but real toe to toe stuff.

Spoke to Terry tonight, and he's very confident. Be a quality result if he can turn over the young prospect.

I really rate Carruthers he beat nabc champ Trevor Crewe too it's a good match
Re: Chris Eubank Jnr v Terry Carruthers
I had it on pretty good authority that Eubank was fighting Kurt Bromberg.... maybe that's the plan after this.
I was seeing double on Saturday night

Re: Chris Eubank Jnr v Terry Carruthers
Adnan Amar did have some serious personal issues the week going into the fight, he wasnt himself as everyone could tell, it would have affected anyone....i personally think he should have pulled out of the fight.
its happened now and hopefully Adnan resolves his personal issues and gets back to training again....some good fights at 154lbs for him as im assuming people will be willing to fight him now with his losses

I don't think many can complain about how Eubank Jnr is being matched this early in his career. Wish more promoter/mangers did the same with their prospects as i really do think it help them in the long run
