Thoughts on Kell Brook for this weekend...

Post by Ezzard »

Does he win?

Does he need to win in style?

What’s next?

Any news coming out of his camp?

Give it 18 months and does Kell have a chance at beating Pac? Floyd? Bradley? Khan? Etc…

Brook inside the distance.
Jones is training in Sheffield and he is not a "special one" by all accounts - and Ezekiel is ready !

He's at Glyn Rhodes place mate.
Purely using the premises.
Glyn no way involved.
Was asked to assist by the Promotor.

I think its an interesting fight, to me Brook is still untested somewhat! He does have good skills but his chin hasnt really been put to the test yet imo

Yeah, fair dos, no problem there.

I remember when Vivian Harris asked to use a local gym to keep sharp before the Witter fight ... and someone sent him to Wincobank. He didn't recognise Junior or Dom and had no idea they were watching him train!

He will win inside the distance pretty comfortably, Jones is very average I think Hatton would beat him tbf. After this he will 80% fight Saldivia in World title eliminator. I know sky are saying this is an eliminator but it's 90% likely it isn't . He will fight Alexander around December time :TU:

Not overly familiar with Jones but I just watched the Ouali fiht on youtube.
I reckon this is a potential banana skin especially if Brook's serious about wanting to ban him out. Brook wins behind the jab if he fights his usual fight but I can definitely see Jones getting the better of it if he's gotten to Brook and he's too aggressive. Very heavy handed guy (Jones), good body puncher, recovers quickly when he's hurt and fires back. Good variety of punches too.

This is going to be good :TU:

Yep

This is easily brooks toughest test, I think he will win but it won't be easy. Of course the usual reaction will be 'so what, jones wasn't any good anyway' :witzend:

I would love to see brook win and win in style just to make all the yank haters sit up and take notice. Suppose I should stop reading comments left on YouTube videos to stop me thinking like that :x

Brook stops him in style if Jones is even as good a fighter
as Kell (which i doubt) i think home advantage will play its part if he
does prove a test for Brook i can see a great fight.
However i think if Jones doesnt get succes early on he will
be negative and look for a way out .
I hope Kell shows what he is really capable of gives Khan
something to think about :TU:

Dan,
Having a laugh aren't you ?!? :TU:
First of all he would never visit South Yorkshire.
He got his first invite to Wincbank about 8 years ago when Witter was his target - now it's Rhodes.
Keyboard warrior mate - never attends fights too busy washing his hair
Hoping to meet up with Rumpole mate.

Jones can bang & he's tough. But his great vulnerability is speed: his defence is undone by quick hands & his feet are made of lead. For all his toughness, I could easily see him getting twatted & then being overwhelmed by a flurrying follow-up.

Brook is quick & flashy enough to keep this behind the jab, keep it tight & capitalise on the visitor's mistakes. Of which I believe there will be a few.
