Looks like some kinda WBO title.smoggy7188 wrote:I never knew it was for some sort of title, what title is it?
Mind you it isn't listed on boxrec as for a title. It might be for the Irish title tho, Maddalone is probably deemed as Irish enough to contest it.

Who cares pointless fight
Re: Tyson Fury looks in good nick at weigh in
Be interestng to see how he fairs. Needs to step up in class after this fight....Oh sorry, I forgot Dave's got his lucrative channel 5 contract so cannot risk any big names yet!

WBO Intercontinental by the looks of it...I guess its probably vacant.
Good TV fight I reckon, although probably not going to do a huge amount for Tyson's overall development. Should be exciting though as Maddalone likes to block punches with his face.
Good to see Tyson in decent shape as well.

Think Daws might have a height and reach advantage there, and Terry Carruthers isn't someone you want to bump into in a dark allyway ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
Re: Tyson Fury looks in good nick at weigh in
Why? 23 yr old novice, youngest HW inside top 30, short amateur career - saul alvarez mustve had 30 "pointless fights" on his way up, cut the kid some slack. He comes to fight at least.Camcas wrote:Who cares pointless fight

Carruthers can have it, clearly. But young eubank isnt one to shy away from a carpark battle.Old bones Ian wrote:Think Daws might have a height and reach advantage there, and Terry Carruthers isn't someone you want to bump into in a dark allyway

I've given Fury a lot of stick in the past but good on him for getting in shape, very good to see.

Maddalone has been totally outclass when he has faced anyone half decent. Alvarez was 18 at the time tough and some of them were decent tests for a guy at this age. I just see it as a fight where Maddalone has almost 0 chance of winning. Fury's level of opposition is going backwards in his last couple of fightsWales wrote:Why? 23 yr old novice, youngest HW inside top 30, short amateur career - saul alvarez mustve had 30 "pointless fights" on his way up, cut the kid some slack. Always found it hard to believe Fury is only 23, certainly looks alot older and maturer than that. A traveller boxer makes me more less to believe his age (am from travelling family before anyone starts!) when I used to be in the schoolboy championships at 13/14 years of age and the traveller had hair under the arms and stubble....Wales wrote:Why? 23 yr old novice, youngest HW inside top 30, short amateur career - saul alvarez mustve had 30 "pointless fights" on his way up, cut the kid some slack. Judging by the last few fights it seems anybody with a dig has a chance against Fury. Not done Wlad no harm though.

A lot of travellers look older than their years. They are considered men at a young age, start working early in life and get married young. That alone will age you!
Fury could pass for mid 30s no problem!

Who's Dave? Anyway, Fury was always bound to improve in physique the older he got. He is 6'9 or so and had a lot of puppy fat earlier on. He is going in the right direction. He will always have his critics, but lets not forget he comfortably beat Chisora who is now only 2-1 to beat Haye! I like Fury's attitude, he has been through a lot with his Dad, etc over the last year or so, and dont underestimate how close they will have been. They will probably have spent every single day of their lives together. Literally. As for the age thing, its a myth Travellers lie about it in my opinion and i am better qualified than most on that subject. If they do, they keep it going for the rest of their lives! I know hundreds of ex am's and pro's and have attended 21st's, 40th's and 50th's parties that tie in with the age they said they were. Surely not trying to fool the ABA/BBBC twenty years after they packed in!TopGun wrote:Be interestng to see how he fairs.
