Boxing promoter allegedly insisted on Thursday he has paid Ricky Hatton more than £6million as he produced the documents he will use in his court fight to stop the IBF world light-welterweight champion walking out on him.
Warren, who guided Hatton to his world title victory over long-time champion Kostya Tszyu in Mancheser, intends serving an injunction on the fighter to prevent him meeting WBA champion Carlos Maussa in a unification fight for rival promoter Dennis Hobson in Sheffield on October 26.
Warren hopes to convince a judge he has a valid agreement with Hatton for a further three fights.
At a London hotel today, he produced a copy of a pre-bout agreement for Hatton's victory over Ray Oliveira at London's ExCel Centre last December - signed by Hatton and witnessed by Robert Smith, assistant general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control - which he believes is binding.
He claimed he had only agreed to arrange the fight if Hatton committed himself to another four fights.
Warren contends that by signing the agreement Hatton was agreeing to the terms of a letter he had previously sent him to confirm a verbal agreement for four further fights after Oliveira.
The promoter said: "Kostya Tszyu was the first and there are three more to go."
Hatton's father Ray - also his business manager - has claimed he threw that letter in a bin but Warren said: "It was sent by registered delivery. How can anyone throw a letter that important in the bin?"
Warren claimed the fall-out is "all down to money and greed" as he produced figures which showed he has paid Ricky Hatton and his company Punch Promotions £6,337,315 over the last four years. The breakdown was £593,125 in 2002, £1,783,178 in 2003, £2,419,177 in 2004 and £1,541,835 this year.
"I just can't believe this has now happened as I've never had one cross word with Ricky," Warren added.
