Haye vs Chisora in the cinema

It seems like some deal has been struck so that Haye vs Chisora is shown at appollo cinemas' across the country.

Is this boxing back to the glory days of when big fights where shown in the cinema - pretty terrible publicity, no idea of the price.

Most of my friends who are casuals fans wont pay money to see Haye again for that reason.

People saw Haye vs Klit and Valuev and talk about Haye fights not being exciting. But when he's in vs guys his height and doesn't have to think about overreaching he ALWAYS lets his hands go.

Besides, Chisora will MAKE him fight! It's not like he's going in against Chris Byrd...this will be a good, if not great fight.

Doing a bit more searching it is on other Cinema's also. Cineworld and Odeon are showing it.

The duo have been ‘Licensed to Thrill’ by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation to settle the score once and for all. In one of the most anticipated nights in recent boxing memory, there is a lot more than titles on the line – National pride is at stake!

I agree with Riddick here - this could turn out to be a wild punch up - not because Haye wants it to be, but 'cause Del will bring huge pressure to him - if he's not afraid to walk into a beast like Vitali, he'll have no problems doing the same to Haye ( apart from possibly getting splattered out of course ). Against Wlad, Audley and co, safety first Haye was facing fighters terrified of getting chinned themselves, and Del appears to have an iron chin.......I think he's knocking Haye out on Sat night.

Cinema's use the absolute best in HD theatre sound and their High-def projection gear costs £10k's of thousands of pounds. The investment by movie producers into picture clarity and soundtrack is millions upon millions of dollars.

Now, you try feeding in a very soft, standard definition feed, with a mono soundtrack - and then blow that image up 100's of times bigger than your average television and it will look and sound hideous.

It's a already poor picture on a screen 42" let alone one that is traditionally 30ft heigh and 70ft wide.

At least with a movie, your getting a full 90-120 minutes worth of crystal clear action. A fight can be over quicker than it takes to chew and swallow your first mouthful of popcorn.

Yep, I said in the prediction thread that Haye will start the better and land some bombs over the first half - but Chisora will eat them, Haye will get doubts and Chisora will come back and stop a tired Haye late in the fight.

I wish there was some betting scenario conducive to this sequence apart from pick a round. Sort of like a boxing equivalent to half time/full time result (scorecard winner after first 6 rounds/winner)???

I wonder if this deal with the cinema means anything in terms of subscription to the channel in pubs.

This is in essence similar to going to the pub to watch a PPV.... perhaps landlords don't see the long term benefits of a monthly subscription.

Or, another question - I wonder if there is a PPV option for pubs for this fight.
