Same Old Edward Hearn

Post by jizzle »

So...Edward has released tickets for another show featuring Barker and yet has still to announce his opponent...looks like he's just the same as the rest...So he mugs of the public by getting them to buy tickets for a fight featuring one boxer???

Is this his vision for boxing?

I think the Board should fine promoters who sell tickets to boxing events without a match being confirmed!

Do we know anymore on the undercard? From what I think I've heard/seen we are looking at Ian Weavers debut, Lee Purdy and John Ryder. Assume there is also a chance of Scotty Cardle and Khalid Yafai appearing.

Will be going to this I think its got the makings of a good little card actually. Hope its Barker v Proska.

If "same old Edward Hearn" means we get another card like saturday night, then sign me up.

What are you on about? Hearn isn't 'making' anybody do anything.

Stop being such a miserable git. If you don't like it, don't buy a ticket.

Better than doing a Warren and announcing an opponent only to change it in the last minute. It is 90% going to be Proksa just got to sort a few things out, just wait until the announcement to buy tickets if your that botherd :TU:

:TU: Knew Ochieng was fighting but had forgotten him when I was thinking of who I'd heard was on the bill.

Hearns cards are the best by far at the moment, if you wait till all the fights have been anounced, you might not get the tickets you want.

To be fair to Jizzle, he gives all promoters a good kicking on this forum and I don't think he is an alias.

Yes, Eddie hasn't named the opponent, but unlike other promoters, I'm pretty confident he wont serve up sh*t headliners and it's likely a technicality that has prevented the name being unveiled.

i.e. The winner of Proska / Hope was likely unconcluded before the tickets were required to be sent out.

Other outfits use it as a strategy but Eddie plays with a straight bat.

I disagree with no oponent. Im a big fan of Darren barker and what matchroom our doing in boxing. I think the undercard is shaping up nice and very tempted on buying a ticket. Ive been to lots of different shows and can happily say Matchrooms have been the best so far.

while i wont be too critical of matchroom thus far , i will say that ive enjoyed the hennessey shows in nottingham more than i did the froch v bute show , that undercard seemed a little uninspiring if im honest , maybe it was from a selfish point in that hennessey always stacked the undercard with local nottingham boxers wheras matchroom only ended up with Adnan Amar on the undercard (ok maybe you could also count AA Lowe as Newark is still Notts) , Leigh wood didnt get to fight due to time constraints (why not put him on AFTER the main event ) .

To most outside of nottingham though maybe they prefer not to have a Nottingham undercard as they might not have heard of the lads , but to me its a big show in their home city so should get the chance to shine , maybe .
