Khan am i alone ?

Post by TJ77 »

I am developing a real dislike for Amir (Team) Khan.Every thing i read about him everytime he opens his patronising mouth the more
i cant stand him.It seems that what ever he moans about enough he gets .IMO he is an embarrasment to Britain not in the ring but by the way he portrays himself out of it .I hope Danny Garcia does him i doubt he will but honestly hope he does and for my 2 pennies worth America can keep Khan even after his retired save me having to watch him on telly for years pretending he is a national treasure .

Whatever you say about him on a personal level - he's a marquee fighter and is rarely in a bad fight and seeks to fight the best boxers in his division. You can't really argue with that. I dislike him on a personal level but he is committed to the sport and I will watch every time he fights.

I think he's a decent bloke and a good representative of our sport. Didn't like the way he reacted after losing to Petersen but he always come acrosws well to me...

He comes across as an arrogant dipstick. That combination only works if you're funny with it.

Ah, come on!
The lad lost a tight decision in a tough fight after being docked 2 points for next to nothing. Some dodgy man in a hat, who was pictured with peterson, was witnessed tampering with the scoring judges and the when khan gets his rematch not only is it cancelled because his opponent is a drug cheat it turns out he was doping before the previous bout

don't know about you mate, but i think i'd have found a reason or two to moan about that...

Most of the time I'm like Bruce Banner when i watch Khan .... but every now and again I read or watch some absolutely shocking bollocks and I turn green, rip my shirt off and explode into the Hulk (with a keyboard).

Right now I'm in Bruce Banner mode, hope he does okay in his fight etc etc.

I've nothing against Garcia, but his father is a racist, pig-headed fool and I hope for that reason Khan wins. Then again his father might be very clever guy indeed and is expertly pushing Team Khan's buttons ?

Hmm, you can't blame Garcia for what his old man represents/ says etc.......i personally hope Garcia tears Khan apart but i don't think it will happen.

Khan is alright, he suffers from foot in mouth disease quite a bit and should probably employ a spokesman.

The other members of his team should be stoned to death. Proper annoying wankers, the lot of them. Especially Saj, who's basically paid to mouth off at people on Twitter.

Well said mate ! Yes the Peterson saga was never ending, but when you look back he had the judges, the man in the hat, the referee and a drug cheat, all against him, next it will come out he was given something in his drink, that attracted him to the ropes.

Like others have said, I like Khan as a fighter but don't like how he mouths off etc.
He's been similar all the way through his career, can remember I lost a lot of respect for him the night he recovered from a few scares to defeat Willie Limond then went on in his interview to say he was levels above Limond etc. Showed no class or respect towards the man who had just troubled him.

Also frustrates me that he is constantly throwing Mayweather's name into the mix, I personally would like to see Khan fight Mayweather but theres a whole load of names out there for him to fight before he is worthy of a Mayweather fight.

One thing that i don't like about him as a fighter is that he never avenged his defeat to Prescott. I know that Khan is levels above Prescott and should on paper be able to beat him 99 times out 100 but i still reckon proper fighters get revenge!

In the build up Khan was already mouthing off about his next fight being against Mayweather at welterweight etc, he showed a complete lack of respect for Peterson before the fight never mind all the nonsense that came afterwards.

Just a question ! But he is one of the most sucessful boxers to come out of this country and represents Britain with pride, plus he gets a lot of stick from certain faction for being so nationalistic, he is also clean living and a great example for the youth of this country, yes he sometimes says the wrong things sometimes, but he is still young, I would prefare him to Rooney any day of the week.

Why even ask the question in the first place then? Race was never mentioned apart from by you.

I agree he is a good role model and he is still young i give you that. Good role model....hmmm, double edged sword for me........in the way he lives possibly, but the way he reacts and says things sometimes.....nope not for me.

With a lot of haters it is race, he said it himself when moved to the states, his dad issued a statement not long after, trying to quell it, from a financial point of view it was risky for Amir to make it public, but he did, there was a reason for it and as a young person he opened up publically. Again I asked the question, he answered it ,good for him, why make a big thing out of it afterwards, if you asked me do I hate a particular nationality, I would answer you accordingly and give my reasons why not, end of story.

safeerah - most of us only know Amir through his media persona and judge and view him from how he is reported/presented. We also see him as being a managed and promoted boxer; ie, trying to cause interest and gain a paying following. Some people will like and appreciate how Amir comes across and follow him/hope he will win others will watch him hoping he will lose. Some people will not like him/critisise him and it will be because he is Pakistani - most critisism on a boxing site will be boxing related. Not everyone who hasn't taken to Khan is anti Pakistani. I like how he boxes but am not too keen on how he comes across; I'll put money on him stopping Garcia quick but don't think he'll do well at Welter.

The guy who jumped the lights and hit a man crossing the road and then was stopped doing 50 over the limit in the same week his driving ban was lifted is a good role model? I haven't even mentioned his twitter or his 'bigging up' his "khan army" of troublemakers. Ok now I have mentioned them. Bugger.

I'm glad he's a fighter though because I can just tell that if he wasn't he'd be hanging around outside a chippy with his arse hanging out of his trousers stinking of weed and drinking his two cans of breaker every night of the week.
