safeerah - most of us only know Amir through his media persona and judge and view him from how he is reported/presented. We also see him as being a managed and promoted boxer; ie, trying to cause interest and gain a paying following. Some people will like and appreciate how Amir comes across and follow him/hope he will win others will watch him hoping he will lose. Some people will not like him/critisise him and it will be because he is Pakistani - most critisism on a boxing site will be boxing related. Not everyone who hasn't taken to Khan is anti Pakistani. I like how he boxes but am not too keen on how he comes across; I'll put money on him stopping Garcia quick but don't think he'll do well at Welter.

Why is that stereotyping? There are lads like that everywhere and in every community. In mine they happen to be mainly asian because I live in a mostly asian area (and yes I do get that just saying "asian" is lumping a lot of different people together). Worst atmosphere I've ever experienced was courtesy of 'khans Army' who were the biggest bunch of pricks I've ever seen in my life.

A young Asian family were cowering in the corner of a lobby , as his fans chanted some Religious stuff in tandem, jumping up and down together , slinging pints of beer around which I found ironic. I lead them to another part of arena and they stood with us. Obviously their teenage son and daughter had the Khan posters etc - little did they realize the reality was gonna be actually buying tickets and going along.

Good fighter (not great by any means), overrated and great to watch. He has so much more potential than he is showing IMO. He seems to lose his way as fights go on, especially when the other guy fights back!

Looking forward to Saturday though, it's never boring watching him.

WE are all human, we all make mistakes at times, it's just that if you are a celeb or a MP you are lambasted for it. I don't like everything Khan does, but I respect him as a fighter and you don't see him having brawls at press conferences, he does come over sometimes as overconfident, something many top fighters radiate, there is a thin dividing line between confidence and arrogance, what side of the line you stand depends on public opinion.

Khan is one dimensional although fortunately for him he is quicker and notably bigger than his opponents. Let’s see how he does moving up. IMO Brook would outthink and stop him after eight rounds if not earlier.
