(not that I'm saying Larry should start selling out others just because he has been caught, although that is kinda what he was doing at the beginning of the thread)
Maybe some people hate Larry so much because they loved him so much. Bit like Liverpool fans and Fernando Torres. We all brought into this guy who seemed to have turned his life around, had pretty basic skills but brought some serious power that seems to be missing from so many domestic fighters. He was a regular poster with good articulate opinions who always came across well on TV. "Look, there's our Warmachine" we would say when he featured on a Friday night undercard, one of us, doing his stuff.
Then again I think some people, quite a lot of people it seems, just like to shout abuse at people from the safety of their living rooms.
Finally, for me, Larry's ban length should be the norm, not the exception

So not only do people in Wakefield need to talk faster, they also need to realise a nonce is a whole world worse than a grass.
What if you grass on a nonce? It's a confusing world

Re: Ali Adams did not knowingly take peds
Anyone in boxing who cares about the sport and knows of other boxers taking PES's has a responsibility to tell the authorities otherwise the sport is being made a complete joke and boxers health is being put at unnecessary risk (this applies equally as much if not more so to the cheats as their opponents).forcefraser wrote:So you basically want Larry to become a Supergrass?doctorboxing wrote:If Larry, shows genuine remorse for his actions, helps the authorities as much as he can, detailing how he avoided positive tests, how he obtained the drugs, who else knew he was taking them and who else he knows is taking PES's
I don`t agree at all with using PED`s in boxing, but you can`t ask anyone to become a grass.
Grassing`s on a par with noncing where I`m from.
You can't just use a nobody should grass attitude with everything. If you knew someone was going to rape/kill/blow up/ etc. etc. someone, I'm sure you would think you had a duty to inform someone. Obviously drugs in sport is not even close to on par with anything like that but it just illustrates the point that "not grassing" is generally used on a sliding scale with people based on the severity of what they are grassing on. You may not happen to think that drugs in sport is a severe enough crime to warrant "grassing" but I do.

Re: Ali Adams did not knowingly take peds
Some of the possts on this thread (and others) are quite incredible and in my mind stupid.
Dont get me wrong there are some great posts, some in support and some against.
But to come on and just shout scum, pudendum, cheater, death etc is just stupid childishness.
Im not saying the whole say it to my face arguement is right but I can see why someone would say it.
If this thread were a pub and everyone saying their opinons like they do on this thread and then Larry walked in, only the smallest minority would say what they have written in that abusive form? And tbh what good does it do anyone other than to give people a stiff cock when walk into their local and say 'i called larry olumbiwo a pudendum the other night.....and he read it'
Anyway back to my reason for posting. I was looking at Fonfaras record, the one fighting Glenn Jonson (like theres loads). On 26/6/09 it states his result was declared a n/c after testing positive for 'steroids'. He then fought 7 months later. I presume he was given a 6 month ban? And would steroids mean these performance enhancers ie. is it the same thing?

Considering law enforcement agencies were involved, I'm sure bank records were going to start being looked at. This wasn't a piss test faliure, followed by a cleansing of the soul, this was a big investigation where he got stung. This, for me, is likely to be a case of admitting it before the DEA or any other agencies found out anyway.Chambers2 wrote:Larry seems to be getting a harsher punishment for admitting what he done. The main issue is that the drug testing procedures in boxing are dire

I'm not sure if Larry is a pudendum but he is a serious cheat.
Maybe Ali thinks Larry is a pudendum for grassing him up.
Just because Larry is bigger than most others on here it doesn't mean you can't call him a pudendum if you think he is a pudendum.

Wasn't it a DEA investigation that did him though? Yep, just had a look and it was a DEA investigation which gave the intelligence..me thinks they had plenty of info.

Well then Norway's a retarted place full of nonces then! So when my bro was mugged and I knew exactly who it was cos I went school with em I'm the same as a nonse? I don't know, seriously. I'm just going with what is in the public domain. Purely guessing, they have probably got the info from the provider and traced it to customer. I'm also going to guess that Larry isn't alone, but I am not going to start believing Larry hasn't told them stuff they wouldn't have found out anyway.palooka wrote:An international/cross continental steroid ring? There are a sh*t load of soap boxes on this thread.
"Do things sincerely, not as strategy. "
Decide which one applies to Larry's opening post and move on.

How very honourable of you.warmachine wrote:i am taking accountability mate, i was just stating facts when it comes to moseley and the like. but yes i did wrong and i hold my hands up and yes i did it only after getting caught but i didnt have to tell them about the 6 years which i did which people are forgeting.leftysreturn wrote:I think some of you are being abit harsh to be honest. Dont get me wrong I think cheating like that is disgusting and the fact that Larry to me isnt really taking accountability for his actions by saying well Mosley, etc didnt get the kind of punishment im receiving so that kind of makes it all right doesnt wash with me. Anyway some of the comments are abit excessive I think, yes what he's done is flat out wrong but you have to remember he hasnt killed anyone or raped anyone, etc. You have to put it into context, thats all im saying.
Re: Ali Adams should just be honest like I was.
warmachine wrote: mate u are deluded if u think everyone i fought was clean, and i dont need to act the hard man. I am a man and i call it like it is so if u wanna get abusive lets get together and sort it like men.
Would you say the same to Big John?
Re: Ali Adams should just be honest like I was.
From what i gather, it is Larry's attitude since getting caught that just as big a reason for the respect he has lost.TheCobra wrote:You know what, this thread just shows how many keyboard warriors and internet dickheads there really are. Larry has been a great contributor to this forum and has always come across as a gent. For that I respect him, as you can tell he's actually a decent guy and can actually construct a proper sentence, unlike some of the people abusing him on here.
He's done wrong and he's been punished, the people who start getting abusive and reeling out the expletives just need to get a life. 4 years is very long and totally disproportionate to anything I've seen before, I think if this was a big name boxer with better financial backing then the ban would have been 6-12 months, maybe 2 years at a big push.

Not commented on it so far. All I got to say is I find it disappointing.
Larry always came across as a gent here and gave some people here a good insight in to the game. Seems like a relatively intelligent chap too. It's a shame he felt the need to cheat in order to compete.
Perhaps he can use this positively now? Get around the gyms, tell the youngsters your story, assuming you aren't shunned by coaches etc. Help weed the cheats out too, offer to work with the authorities.
You were a sprinter at one point Larry, was you enhanced then or is it something you only started once you turned pro?
