Calzaghe Lacy won't happen.

Or as good as, Calzaghe is fornicating delusional, he's made it clear he has no intention of going to the states to fight Lacy, and he's setting his stall out to make sure the fight doesn't happen.

No of course Joe couldn't say "Well, we'll see what can be done to make the fight happen, perhaps we can fight in America, perhaps here."

WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe has lashed out at the Gary Shaw, promoter of IBF champ Jeff Lacy. "I want the Lacy fight now more than ever both to prove to all my fans what they already know, that I'm the best, and to shut Shaw's mouth once and for all," Calzaghe wrote in his South Wales Argus column. "And as for me going to America for the contest, well the agreement is that Lacy should fight me over here so we'll see if he honours that agreement or if he ducks out. I'm the man in the super-middleweight division and Lacy needs me more than I need him and I'm certainly not going jump just because he clicks his fingers. I know and he knows I will beat him badly when the fight does go ahead and after what has happened in the past five days I can't wait to prove that."

I read where Kessler issued a challenge to Lacy...I hope the match can be made as it should be a good fight. As to Calzaghe...I'll not comment any more!

Well in fairness they did agree to come here - but that was for November. Maybe it'll happen who knows. Kessler-Lacy looks on for sure though

Yep, Lacy and Kessler don't need Calzaghe, they should just get on with it and fight eachother, I think most reasonable people would accept that the winner of the fight is the top man in Lieu of Calzaghe actually getting in the ring with a genuine top-ranked fighter.

Yes they did agree to come here, but that was before Joe got injured, which is hardly their fault.

My point is that the tone of Joe's whole spiel is "I'm the man at SM, everyone knows it, everyone bow down and suck my dick, I'm not compromising or travelling because I don't need anyone to prove how great I am."

We've been listening to the same shtick for how long now?

I think Richard Poxon said it best last March, "Calzaghe's not even the best super middleweight any more." Joe's let everybody else catch up and surpass him. Lacy and Kessler are a tough enough assignment anyway, not that JC will ever fight them.

This guy still can't slip a bloody right hand and he can really flail horribly. these technical deficiencies were never corrected. And look how MK and JL have been improving in the last year or two.

calzaghe's needs a big fight and if it has to be in america then so be it. :x

Reminds me of Naz. He spent so many years fighting nobodies, that when his greatest test came, his golden days were gone.

It is a shame. I wish Joe could've fought Steve Collins.

I'd say that Lacy has nearly caught up with him but it's premature to say with Kessler since he's only had one defence. Though Kessler was injured andall of a sudden, he's fit to fight Lacy. Good luck to him.
