To play devils advocate here, is that a reflection on the number of 'world' titles available rather than the quality of his actual opposition?
When we start considering world champions mediocre opposition we are in trouble, if it was one or two then maybe there would be a case but 6 world champions in 8 fights? They may not be the elite like manny, jmm and PBF But they are the next level down (top world class champions) do we now start saying khan hasnt fought anyone because he hasnt fought an all time great in their prime.
In truth, in is starting to look that way especially when Khan's own promoters are happy to say that one of their own fighters who is a world champion isn't ready to fight established champions at his weight yet. The 'champions' at the weights now aren't always the best fighters at the weight and when fighters are happy to feast on the weaker champions around then this really doesn't help their case.

For example, would Hatton coming back and beating Malignaggi at welterweight for his title make you think he was a legitimate champion?
What is your point, your nitpicking. Bruno beat a journeyman to win the world title, nobody moaned about that, in fact his stock raised.

My point is that the quality of any fighters opposition can be hidden behind the mask of someone being a 'champion'. Are JCC jnr and Canelo really worthy of their title of world champion? How did Senchenko become WBA welterweight champion and manage to defend it so many times before being taken apart by the feather-fisted Malignaggi? Titles can mean nowt.

140 is in the poorest shape it's ever been. It's not out of the question for Khan to unify.

It's nothing like the halcyon days of Mayweather, Hatton, Tszyu, Cotto - where each belt was a big ask to win off them.

Even the pretenders like (in their prime) Gatti, Sharmba Mitchell, Judah, Vivian Harris, Hurtado, Urkal and even Ben Tackie would beat or trouble the likes of Khan, Peterson, Garcia etc of today's division.

Ok recieve your missing the point award and take in the mellow applause. The guy went on about how Brook is now no good because he had a tough fight with Jones, I simply pointed out that we could say Khan's no good because he had a tough fight with Maidana who, while no doubt a very big puncher and a game fighter is cruder than an oil slick on a council estate. Lost to Peterson in a similar kind of fight to Brook - Jones i.e a fight of two halves and that we can bring up his ko loss. As for Prescott, come on, when you lose a whitewash to Kevin Mitchell, you're not very good, not when we're talking about world class fighters like Khan and Brook.
Do you understand? I think Khan's a very good fighter, I think Brook's a very good fighter. Somebody said something stupid about one of them and then I mocked him for it.

p.s what hatred? I said he annoys me, rubs me up the wrong way. That's hatred?

As a fan and as far as British fighters go, Khan is one of my picks, but I hear what you are saying. I think Khan became famous quite young so is still maturing as a man. Yes he does come across quite arrogant and flashy and sometimes I wish he did keep quiet but then a lot of fighters are like this.

It's a shame he doesn't take a leaf out of his stable mate MannyPaq's book who I think shows a lot of humilty.

This is why a lot of people don't debate on here because of arrogant, egotistic, childish people like you who can't admit they are wrong, so try to highlight little mistakes in wording that people make for speed, if you think Alverez is not worthy as a world champion, you must stupid as well, by the way bet i could find some mistakes in your previous posts, but I don't bother with kids games, like you. Be honest your argument is flawed and I can't be bothered to flog a dead horse anymore.

It's not because he is a Pakistani then ?
What a strange thing to say......its because of the way he acts......not because of race. Why do you say these things?...... :(
Race ????? He has a brown skin and a different culture but he belongs to the same race as white Europeans. Where his family originate from shouldnt be a problem either. Its all about the person and nothing else. I personally dont like him, but I have to admit he is very talented and has improved so much under Freddie Roach.

Do you actually follow boxing or just Amir Khan? Alvarez worthy champion he beat Matthew Hatton and defended against Rhodes shot to shit Citron, Gomez and the 40 odd year old Mosley…his biggest test would have been against Williams sadly due to horrific circumstances this isn’t happening, until Canelo fights Lara, or Cotto he will just be another protected fighter. Who is he fighting next…..

I am a pro trainer and manager and co promoted abroad, yes I do follow boxing, I don't follow Amir Khan, just feel that he does not get the credit from people on the forums. Alverez is a wonderful talent at such a young age, I have spoken to both Ryan Rhodes and Matthew Hatton, they both told me how amazingly accurate he is and what a brilliant fighter he is, but I guess you don't ? What I suggest you do is wait and see he is still very young and improving all the time. By the way what do you do in boxing ?

I’m Ken Buchannan… easy easy….. :yay:

Canelo has potential and I do think he will be a star although he is protected I understand why Oscar is doing it TBH. But beating British level opponents and shot to shit fighters doesn’t give you IMO anyway the Kudos needed to be considered legit dominating champions.

PS. I’m not Ken Buchannan and I don’t work in boxing …

Every Promoter looks after his world champion cash cow, just because there is no one great in his division it's not his fault and who's to say he would not beat them anyway, Cotto is the best other fighter in his division, but not big enough, nor young enough to beat him, K9 is not good enough, he might fight Emanuelle della Rosa, world number7 and the WBC International champion, that's the word from the Italians camp, but Dellla Rosa was lucky to get the nod against my fighter Nasser Al Harbi in Rome 4 weeks ago, after a home town decision, on that performace Della Rosa will not beat Alverez.

I must be one of the rare ones that have actually grown to love kahn!!!

I couldn't stand his constant moaning at first and how he always made out he had it hard. He was given things on a plate yet didn't seem to appreciate it.

I have since seen that he has completely learnt everything he has. Fair enough most boxers career would have been finished after a KO like the prescott one and only kahn would have been given another chance but for me thats how boxing should be just coast someone has lost doesn't mean they aren't good enough to be a top fighter. He has taken his stick and his lows and has come back stronger I wish him well in every fight and may he have a long and prosperous career from here on.

Same to all our fighters
Cmon great britain!!! :-)

Haha, chill out, that was just a little joke about the spelling.

Alvarez is not a worthy world champion yet as he has not fought a credible challenger at light middle. He has beaten up welterweights and been handed the title. He does have potential though and could be a great champion.

The reason a lot of people don't debate on here is because of people who are so incredibly myopic. You refuse to see the bigger picture in any debate on here and instead focus on ridiculous things and think everyone is out to get you. Any slight criticism of your fighter (is he your son) or Khan and you're pulling the race card out faster than a Khan combination.

Open your eyes and you'll see the world isn't a nasty place all of the time.

Amir Khan has been massively unlucky with year, what withb the poor judging in his last fight... And now it seems as though the IBF are refusing to recognise him as their rightful Champion.

I thought Khan was very classy in how he reacted to the Prescott defeat, although I guess it's hard to explain away being nailed to the floor within a minute? I didn't like the way he conducted himself following the loss to Peterson, he let himself down with his complaining I think and, if he'd have taken it with dignity then the subsequent news regarding Peterson's cheating would have reall earned him some brownie points.

That said I think he is a good guy, as an example I was at the ABA schoolboy finals this year when he turned up unannounced with no fanfare to mix with the boxers, sign autographs, have his picture taken etc. I thought that was very classy and reckon there are very few elite sportspeople in any sport that would have done that. :salut:

Yes it was for the WBC International Title, every time Nasser won rounds and the open scoring was read out after 4, 6 and 8 rounds we was behind on 2 judges score cards and drawing on the other, what ever we did, if we out boxed him or out fought him, we were always just behind and in the end just lost, many thought we won readily.
