Choi fighting in singapore.
Choi fighting in singapore.
A very strange career move, I'm in this part of the world for over 3 months so can't wait, as soon as I saw this on the boxrec homepage a smile appeared on my face. Is there a more pleasing brawler to watch?
Re: Choi fighting in singapore.
It's a crying shame that Choi can't get in front and box regularly making good dough; he is all out and there aren't many like him. I really hope he gets a good break, if it's in the Far East; well stranger things have happened.

He's fighting Daud Cino Yordan, he is a real handful. Fair play to Choi he would fight anyone and he's always entertaining.

Bashing up Derry Matthews was a terrible career move

Don't think it'll hurt Gavin Rees the same though ;;-)Coco wrote:Bashing up Derry Matthews was a terrible career move

Yordan is really good so I think he'll take this to be honest. Big Choi fan but sadly I think his time has passed and Yordan is just starting to find his prime, a very under-rated fighter himself.

I'd say this is a big fight probably the biggest he'll ever have. Yordan has only lost to 2 Pretty decent World Champions.Adamj1987 wrote:hope he wins and lands a big fight

Could never get a British title shot, due to his passport, as far as I am aware... so bashing up Matthews (in quite some style) was never going to launch him - its a bit like El Maachi... without the ability to fight for a British or EBU strap, a world shot can pass you by undeservedly.
Re: Choi fighting in singapore.
can choi not fight for one of the pacific and oceanic titles?@matt___s wrote:Could never get a British title shot, due to his passport, as far as I am aware... so bashing up Matthews (in quite some style) was never going to launch him - its a bit like El Maachi... without the ability to fight for a British or EBU strap, a world shot can pass you by undeservedly.

I guess he could, but without wishing to appear too Euro-centric on this... would it help?Adamj1987 wrote:can choi not fight for one of the pacific and oceanic titles?@matt___s wrote:Could never get a British title shot, due to his passport, as far as I am aware... so bashing up Matthews (in quite some style) was never going to launch him - its a bit like El Maachi... without the ability to fight for a British or EBU strap, a world shot can pass you by undeservedly.

Spencer has been saying "one fight from a world title fight" - "billy dib is next" for a couple of years now.Adamj1987 wrote:hope he wins and lands a big fight
It similar to the eliminators allegedly and ITV used to say about Harrison / Williams and Skelton. Win this fight and a world title is next.
