Khan v Brook - who wins?
Khan v Brook - who wins?
There is a real possibility that this fight could happen next year now. Both fighters have arguably been somewhat exposed in the last seven days, but who would triumph if they met?
It's a real pick'em for me. I'd probably lean towards Brook, just.

Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
Well Brook doesnt have much of a punch but Khans chin was really exposed last night.
The punches he took were not even flush.
I dont rate Kel as I dont believe he punches hard enough but against Amirs bad chin?? (and it is awful!) I would still go with khan as he carrys a dig but this fight is a lot more interesting now!

Unless his confidence is gone - and I'd guess it's not, as he's come through this before - I reckon Khan's chin is good enough to stand up to Kell's not so great punch power, and he'd likely hand out a steady beating to Kell. Different levels at the moment.

Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
Khan allday still.
The move upto Welter will do him good (just as the move upto LWW did after Prescott - remember he's still only 24/25 and still getting stronger and growing).
I like Brook but his power is overrated imo, who has he really stopped convingly at a decent level??
As for boxing skills, Brook could be awkward for Khan but I see Khan being too quick too skillfull for Brook

Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
People are so carried away with Brook. Hes nowhere near world class and is a non puncher. And if im not mistaken was given hell last weekend by a much lesser fighter than Khan.TJ77 wrote:How after seeing him sparked last night can u say Khan all day ?saturday_kid wrote:Khan allday still.

Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
Brook is totally unproven. The two have moved in different level. How anyone can have more than a hunch that Brook would beat Khan is beyond me. Jones was a level below and his stamina gave up in round 6. How is he going to cope with Khan's pace?TJ77 wrote:How after seeing him sparked last night can u say Khan all day ?saturday_kid wrote:Khan allday still.

Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
Khan, quite easily. Would be a good all-round fight though, with lots of speed on show.
Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
At this point you would have to favour Brook for no other reason that Amir cant hold a shot at this level and Brook does hit fairly hard

Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
Because Khan will still be too quick for Brook, Brooks power is overrated, Brook's previous opposition is inferior compared to Khan's etc.TJ77 wrote:How after seeing him sparked last night can u say Khan all day ?saturday_kid wrote:Khan allday still.

Khan got sparked against Prescott - didn't stop him beating Kotelnik, Malignaggi, Judah, Maidana etc.
SO just because Khan got sparked were all supposed to say Brook?
That is ridicilous

Kell is certainly not a non-puncher as someone has foolishly posted above. He is a hard and accurate puncher. Not concussive perhaps, granted. But still very accurate and hurtful - ask jackiewicz, ndou, hatton and even look at carson jones' face after their fight. Personally i 'have a hunch' he'd stop amir.
I take your point gobbles that due to their relative opponents one can't conclusively back brook. But Khan's flaws are now so clearly a) abundant and b) grave that it has to be conceded any accurate, hard puncher has got a good chance against him.
Kell wouldn't just stand there and let him tee off like Garcia and Peterson did. He'd be elusive and dangerous on the counter.
Great fight though. I suspect that by the time is made next year, Kell will have the IBF belt at welter and it will be a genuine 50-50. Hope so, it'd be a huge night for british boxing
PS carson jones would stop amir late on
On the converse, other than a stamina issue in one fight, what flaws has brook displayed?

Exactly - I like Brook but think he's European/Fringe world at best.Spiker wrote:People are so carried away with Brook. Hes nowhere near world class and is a non puncher. Who has he actually beat, Khan's got atleast 5 more impressive names than any of Brook's victories.
Yes he looked powerful beating the likes of Stuart Elwell, Michael Lomax and Kevin Mcintyre (who to be honest and no disrespect meant to the 3 - were not even top domestic class)
His power is majorly overrated imho.
Too many people buying into the Hearn hype machine.

Dunno if you're refering to me but I never said Brook was a non puncher.
I agree he's a crisp and accurate punch, but i believe his power is overrated, dont think he has explosive one punch power, more accumalative damaging shots.

Ok fair enough maybe 4 lol but to be honest other than Carson Jones most Khans other victories are still better than Brook's.iamasadlittleboy wrote:Kotelnik, Malignaggi, Maidana, Judah and...?saturday_kid wrote:Exactly - I like Brook but think he's European/Fringe world at best.

Would be a great fight, particularly right now! Khan on his way down looking for some redemption from the weekend, and Brook on his way up looking to make his mark on the world stage!
A few people on here are saying that they think Brook is overrated, however after the past two performances it wouldn't be out of line to suggest that Khan is overrated also...

Кеll by brutal KO
Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
I think this would be a very, very close fight and could go either way.
I think speed is definately in Khan's favour but the harder more accurate punching would come from Brook.
Khan's chin is always going to be a big worry for him now as the punch that ultimately swung the fight on Saturday night didn't even connect properly - most of the force went on the side of his neck.
I also think if Brook never had his nose broke against Jones he would have dealt with Carson Jones a lot more comfortably and he has never been in that situation before. Nothing worse than being unable to breath properly...
I would say Brook to win by stoppage but would be a great fight

Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
i would say brook would win at a canter. khan doesnt have the power at lww so its safe to assume he wont have it at welter. brook is a skilled and well schooled elusive boxer. the question marks about brooks credentials concern his fitness ,stamina, and dedication. apart from the speed advantage khan seems to have ,what else is there about khan that would trouble brook? brook would pick khan apart then ko him at will. ffs even carson jones would walk khan down and ko him. these young welterweights are a different ball game from super feathers and old has beens.
Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
Khan close UD.
Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
Honestly watch Kell next fight he was not prepared properly (no excuse for that)suffered a broken nose and still beat his man .Khan got found out by a guy who split a decision withTheopane and was Ko'd big time.If i was Eddie Hearn and Brook i would tell Team Khan to fornicate off if they come knocking he wouldnt have given Kell a shot so why
do him any favours .Like Khan said there at different levels and Khan whatever your opinion is a LW with no chin and no title makes no sense to fight him .
YOU REAP WHAT YOU :SOW

Re: Khan v Brook - who wins?
just read the latest khan article on boxrec where he says hes a man now and not a boy ,has to grow up etc....yet above it theres a picture of khan in a lap dancing bar/club holding a big wad of cash giving us the fingers. was this picture taken before or after the fight?
