Anybody else go to Upton Park tonight?

Went to watch the Haye-Chisora fight tonight. On the tube to the fight the atmosphere was lairy as hell. Around the Upton Park ground it was like murderers row, so many massive evil looking groups of blokes. Yet, inside, it was a strangely inclusive atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and happy to be there: people cheering for both fighters. Didn't see any trouble in the crowd (fucked off sharpish as soon as the fight was stopped though- we got the hell out of there!) it was just a good night.

Even I predicted murders. I saw more crowd trouble at Groves-Degale.

Also, just before the fight, we put £20 on Haye to KO Chisora in the 5th!

Forgetting the fact the undercard was sh*t, we had a great night. Anybody else have a good one?

Atmosphere in bobby moore upper was awesome. Crowd seemed massively pro haye which didn't expect. Interestingly we were allowed to take beers in to the seats which unfortunately isn't always the case. However this proved a largely theoretical benefit as the queues for the beer were some of the worst i've seen in ten or so years of going to fights. Some absolute muppets and jobsworths working behind the bars. What we all found funny was sitting in the 'cheap seats' nicely covered from the monsoon and seeing all those at ringside apart from the first two or three rows under the canopy, getting absolutely hosed on!

How many times did you chaps here the term 'muggy pudendum' or 'mugged off' last night out of interest? It's usually accompanied by a set of stick arms carrying imaginary buckets full of water whilst they bowl!

I went with five mates and we all had a top might. Good atmosphere inside the ground and there was no hint of trouble on the streets afterwards either. There didn't seem to be any kind of tense atmosphere at all.
The fact the undercard was crap didn't make any difference to the enjoyment of all those who attended.
However, this will probably be disappointing for all those who were hoping that the night would turn into a shambles.

We certainly thought it was very very funny indeed. Especially as I knew that the racist twat (and his idiot mates seig heiling at some poor asians and shouting "Tyson Fury's a pikey!) we spoke to on the tube had those seats. He didn't have an umbrella with him. Or even a coat.

Micky1975 the 'kick off' between Del and Fury at Groves Degale, amusing as it was, wasn't the only bit of bother we saw (It was certainly more interesting that the Frankie Gavin fight going on at the same time). I saw two fights break out in the crowd and for some reason an idiot sitting near me and his pals tried to get the security involved in some sort of brawl and tried to drag me into it by holding on to me when the security shoved him back (kind of like, they pushed you too mate come on!). It was all very embarrassing and the said gentlemen were ejected.

I know that the above is nothing, but considering last night was meant to be an idiot-fest of chavs stabbing each other (according to a lot of miserable, stay at home and watch it on a free stream boxrec computer warriors) I just thought the atmosphere was very jolly and wanted to express that. The LEAST trouble I have seen at a fight.

Well, the point was that so many people have been posting about how they wouldn't go to the circus act full of violent pissed up, coked up chavs and that there would DEFINITELY be trouble. Even I expected it. The fact was, it was a joyous occasion and very good natured, at least where we sat. It was a great evening. I was just being positive. I don't know how you can suddenly turn that into "the chavscum really have taken the country to the dogs" you effing miserable git How can they be dragging the country down if they didn't do anything?

And there has ALWAYS been trouble at the boxing, or the potential for it, in the UK (Don't know about other places) before the word 'Chav' had even reached public consciousness and was still a gypsy word for child. As for boxing in Norway, yes mate, pro boxing is banned over here. It`s a socialist government run by the "it`s not the winning that`s important but the taking part" crowd. Boxing is seen as brutal and a bad example to children. Ironic really as in most other countries boxing is seen as a way of keeping kids off the streets.

I wa there, as I always am for all haye fights, good evening to be honest, there were also of cheeky chappies flying around, normal for most fights, didn't see any trouble bar a scuffle in the wet seats, undercard was crap but main even was classic, really enjoyed the evening.

Twas a good night. Only a couple of minor incidents from what i saw. Couple of Bell ends launched 2 bottles of Carlsberg towards the ring when Del got stopped and a minor scuffle above the tunnel where the boxers were being held.

One bloke got dinged out by security literally as the first round started. Not sure what he did, but he was dragged off past the bobby moore who regaled him with a lovely chorus of 'cheerio cheerio'! It was a strangely friendly atmosphere we found, most unexpected and most welcome!

I thought it was an excellent evening. No crowd trouble at all as far as I could see and a lot of good natured banter flying around especially when that awful singer (I think his name was Angel) sung his new single! Really good main event and weather was great until about 15 mins before the Haye fight started!

One thing that was annoying was the queues to get a beer. They really should have had more people selling it as we were in the pitchside seats and had to wait nearly 30 mins to get served.

I didn't understand why ANYONE thought that the crowd would be anything other than Pro-Haye??? Other than two blokes and a lass in front of me supporting Del, everyone else was supporting Haye!

The undercard was crap and the music break was embarrassingly bad, but luckily the main event made it worthwhile! I too darted for the exits the second that Del Boy was counted out, luckily got onto the tube before the mass crowds arrived!
