Can you explain that a little more mate
What worked for them, Khan is completely different, they were great counter punchers, trouble with Khan He gets countered, for the reason Ive stated.

That happens in boxing and it's what makes Khan the most exciting fighter in all boxing to watch, he is a true fighting man who will win some and lose some. He was never going to be an 'unbeatable' fighter.

As Michael Gomez once said 'Khan is a world class fighter with world class frailities' and that's what makes him the must watch fighter he is.

I think his management need to look at changing trainers, that's not a knock on Freddie Roach who has done a great job with him but i just feel they've both reached the end of the line together in terms of what Khan can learn of him. I've had a quick think and i think the perfect trainer for him would be ADAM BOOTH, someone who can get boxers to fight to a perfect gameplan and stategy.

Also i'd like Khan to learn to switch speed not just always fighting super fast as a good fighter can learn to time counters off it but if he switched up different speeds it would confuse a fighter more then just constant fast fast fast.
Wasn't Freddie Roach supposed to be the master strategist though? It's amazing how fickle people can be, a couple of losses and Roach has gone from hero to zero.

You have totally got my post wrong, nothing to do with Roach, Khan has defensive problems, due to his style, Whitticker and Mcgurt have the boxing style to improve him, simple as that, Hatton did that with Mayweather, but could not adapt, maybe too long in the tooth to change, Amir has prooved in the past he can change things, that's about it really.
how has khan proved he can change things exactly? hes fought exactly the same way since dot ,with the exception of his fight with kotelnik, where he fought the perfect fight.( against the weakest champion in boxing- according to khan).
all you can do for khan is put him in with weak fighters, cos hes never gonna come out well against the best.Fact.
He changed a lot after joining wild card, still needs more change to become more complete. I guess world champions are weak in your opinion then ?

Where did i criticize Roach in my post?

Roach is a brilliant trainer and has done wonders for Amir but the one thing no one has ever accused him of being is a 'master stategist'.

I just think either Khan retires or gives it one more go in a new direction and see if another trainer can bring something new to the table. It might be too late to fundamentally change Amirs style but as i mentioned in my post i would like someone to change up his speeds and use it to his advantage.

Floyd Mayweather sr could really bring something fresh to Khan as well.

Can you explain that a little more mate
Okay, the Head is the centre of everything in Biomechanics, the Body is there to transport it. Where the angle of the Head is, gives out the signals of movement and the restrictions, of position. His Head has always been over His front Foot after punching, feet to wide. Reflex action to this is to move the Head, to correct posture, wrong :oo , body moves the Head, not the other way round. If the Head is over 15% off line you are off balance, with too much stress on the 3 top Vertabrea , Clarity is lost.
Funnily enough, the guy on boxingtalk who does excellent analysis, Stephen Edwards (aka Breadman) has been saying the same thing for the last couple of years. He's said Khan is a knockout waiting to happen because his head is always over the front foot after punching. Having never been in the ring myself I never understood the significance of this, but it is something he has pointed out as a fundamental flaw in Khan's technique moreso than a dodgy chin for a good while.
This is spot on and is 100% the reason Khan is often described as 'chinny'. You can build your neck muscles all you want, bite down on a properly fitted gumshield all you want and it won't alter a thing. It will be very hard, if not impossible for him to change this problem at this stage of his career.
When that initial left hook caught him partially on the neck, whilst better than being caught direct on the chin/jaw it was still pretty bad as it would have hiy his brachial plexus nerves and whilst his head may have been clear, he would have had no control whatsoever over his legs, as the nerve distribution between brain and feet are affected.
I like Khan, but he is too keen to get involved in a tear-up and you cant afford to do that if you are 'chinny' The sparring they showed against the novice demonstrated that. Khan needs someone that can give him his undivided attention and the head thing should have been spotted years ago by his trainers, when they still had a chance to adapt or sort it out.
I'm not fussed on his advisors at all, he would do very well to get rid of them, but blood is thicker than water and I suppose he has done pretty well financially out of their advice so far.
I don't think for one moment that he is using PED's and think its a bit of a cheap shot to put that up as a contributing factor for some of his success. He has fought in Nevada's area before and they do routinely test for PED's as a matter of course. They have one of the better records for testing in the USA. There short-fall is that they allow a ratio of test of 6:1, where a normal ratio would be 1:1.
Not sure where he goes next, does anyone know if GBP had a rematch clause in the contract?

Mayweather Sr would be a nightmare for Khan, he's not loose-limbed enough to employ that kind of defence.

As for the comment about Gallagher, he was doing very well when all the fighters used their own styles and he made slight tweaks to them.... but these days they all seem to fight the same. Ear muffs on, following the opponent around the ring just getting hit all night with hard shots.

It's an easy style to counteract. Circle away from the opponent's best punch, then step in with your shots when they throw - because it's easy to spot from the hand position, and they never feint.

Until Gallagher changes up his methods the gym will suffer more and more bad KO losses. Fact. He's a good trainer but he's dangerous at the minute, and will be whilever he remains set in his ways.

sorry about the spoiler gents, wasn't thinking at that time in the morning

as for khan, i think he does have a glass chin, but whether it's that or his approach to fights or his reaction to being hurt, one way or another i think it is guaranteed he will find himself in this position time and time again throughout his career and highly likely one of those times he is going to get seriously injured

i know he's young and i know he has a lot of earning potential still but i think he has to put his health first.
if he carries on i reckon his team should disregard the opinions of fans and start protecting him and putting him in against guys who can't bang. guys with low knockout percentages, guys like malignaggi and cuenca would be the first guys i'd line him up against.
if he gets stick for choosing opponents because of his chin so be it. at least he knows he can beat these guys on points and they could probably punch him for 2 days without the risk of knocking him out

Khan should forget about being a pound 4 pound great and return to Britain to have a crack at domestic level and fight the winner of the Ricky Burns Kevin Mitchell fight and fight the best in this country for a few years. He could be a star over here still. I think he'd still be big in England as he's still young and has a good style to watch. The Americans would've lost interest in him now after that fight. He had a go though. :bag:

Kell Brook will fight Saldivia then the winner of Bailey-Alexander. If he wins the title his first defense should be against the winner of a fight between Amir Khan vs Carson Jones. Jones deserves a rematch and Khan has been spouting off about Carson....

Linares and Khan both have eggy chins, and neither are particularly smart fighters.

Pacquiao didn't lose to Bradley, and he can't cope with Marquez's technical ability - as nobody has barring Mayweather.

Eggy chins or not (seemed more like a skin issue for Linares v DeMarco) you'd have to hope that they'd have learned some defensive techniques. Roach fighters seem incredibly good offensively but pretty awful defensively.

Pacquiao either lost to Bradley or lost to Marquez, depends whether you take "official" results or you use your own eyes, but at least keep consistent.

Had it easy? He is 25. Look at what he has managed to do already and who he has fought. I remember when he and Mitchell had an apparent rivalry. Khan has had it ten times tougher than Mitchell has yet I bet you wouldn't call him spoilt or protected...

Brook is an option, although for me, not a good one from Khan's point of view. He needs to take stock, change trainers, attempt to make the necessary adjustments ( don't think he can ) and build back up slowly.
He's had a cherry picked run to the top and was beaten in his last two fights by opponents that were picked for their apparent lack of a challenge to Khan. The only non cherry picked fight was Maidana and Maidana had to chase him for years and threaten court action to get it.
He had a fairly easy run given his talent, but spoilt? And a bully? Compare his record to that of any current British fighter when they were aged 25. Not one of them had fought the level of opposition Khan has. Brook and Mitchell for example are both older yet still not fought the quality that Khan has yet its Khan that is labelled spoilt, and he has apparently had it easy?

I don't think you are a trainer mate, you lean forward draw the punch on the edge of punch range, head comes back out of range then back in with your counter, bingo, Mayweather leans and lands as does Jones and Leonard, it does not restrict them, never mind bio machanics, it depends on the athlete, you could train a boxer to throw off one leg, if he was good enough to do it, some people are more athletic then others, When Ali won the world title, they said it was the end of boxing as we know it, after all everything he did was not text book, or normal, since it as produced many like him, we are not robots.
