Certainly isn't what Garcia's dad was saying this morning ...maybe Khan really did take one too many...TJ77 wrote:From Khans Facebook

Roach reckoned it was likely and im sure he said that after garcias dads interview but could be wrong. Theres noone else for him to fight at LWW and the payday would be massive.iamasadlittleboy wrote:Certainly isn't what Garcia's dad was saying this morning ...maybe Khan really did take one too many...TJ77 wrote:From Khans Facebook

Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
I dont see why Garcia should give him a rematch, he knocked him down 3times. If khan had done what Garcia had done would he have given him a rematch? no.
Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
Well it makes sense if hes been offered big money for giving the rematch and he probably figured that hes stopped Khan once so can do so again, but personally if I was garcias team I wouldnt face Khan in Britain, why take the risk of a dodgey decision?.
Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
are you just repeating garcia snr's comment in his interview? He should give him a rematch because it will make him millions he would never have to fight again if he didnt want too, theres no money in fighting anyone else at that division. Plus good chance he will win again.smoggy7188 wrote:I dont see why Garcia should give him a rematch, he knocked him down 3times. No, i havent even seen any interviews from Garcia's dad. I agree from a money point of view he should take a rematch but career wise he shouldnt.kingfinn wrote:are you just repeating garcia snr's comment in his interview? Yeah but Khan would have to go 12 rounds without getting clipped by a big shot again and i dont see that happening! The Dark Destroyer wrote:I see what you're saying but personally, and it might sound odd after last night but given their styles, if Khan can last the distance I think he'd beat him on points. I can't see Garcia out boxing him over 12.fatcity69 wrote:Well it makes sense if hes been offered big money for giving the rematch and he probably figured that hes stopped Khan once so can do so again, but personally if I was garcias team I wouldnt face Khan in Britain, why take the risk of a dodgey decision?.
Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
Rematch with Khan is only big-money match in the division.
Who's else is he going to fight? Zab Judah?
Marquez would be big money, but that would be a much trickier match. Khan either outboxes him, or Garcia might have his number and catches up with him mid-rounds

Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
I dont think it would make him millions to be honest! I dont think Khan is as big a draw in the uk as he used to be and for him to make millions it would have to be on ppv and they'd have to draw a huge crowd.kingfinn wrote:are you just repeating garcia snr's comment in his interview? Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
The only rematch that Khan should be involved with is vs Prescott. But if the money is right . . . why not?

Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
If I was Garcia I'd go in with Khan again, definitely.
It'll be a lucrative fight, and one he'll certainly fancy his chances of winning again. Plus, if he did it here he'd gain a bit of extra publicity for a potential fight with Brook down the road.
That's certainly better than some easy defences or a KO loss to Marquez.

Khan on the back of 2 losses...would it be lucrative?...
Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
It does make sense but he does not deserve a rematch cos he blatantly looked past Garcia .

Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
I think Khan needs a couple of confidence booster fights and then maybe Khan v Brook, people would certainly pay for that. Lose to Brook and I think it would be game over for Khan. Cant see Garcia giving him another crack, definately not in the UK anyway. TBH I dont think Khan has too many options and I think he has a lot of rebuilding to do to get back on top.
Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
Well, it's not going to be mega money, but HBO would probably pay as much as last time, plus more ticket money and Garcia would get the big share of the purse, so he'd probably end up with 4-5 times what he got last night.iamasadlittleboy wrote:Khan on the back of 2 losses...would it be lucrative?...
If he went on Boxing After Dark for a Judah fight, say, HBO pay about a third of what they do for World Championship Boxing.
Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
Yeah but HBO dont really like travelling outside of the states to cover fights, that would affect how much they made aswell because the production would cost more from their point of view.gobbles wrote:Well, it's not going to be mega money, but HBO would probably pay as much as last time, plus more ticket money and Garcia would get the big share of the purse, so he'd probably end up with 4-5 times what he got last night.iamasadlittleboy wrote:Khan on the back of 2 losses...would it be lucrative?...

Amir Khan is such a sore loser. Now, he wants another rematch against another defeat. He should just accept defeat and move on and try to rebuild his career, not continually go after rematches.
Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
I agree with you, but not sure Team Khan would. I think they'd see Brook as the booster fight. I know its unlike them to underestimate opponents but... oh hang on.WildWaylon wrote:I think Khan needs a couple of confidence booster fights and then maybe Khan v Brook, people would certainly pay for that. Wanting to avenge a loss immediately is good.brian13 wrote:Amir Khan is such a sore loser. Now, he wants another rematch against another defeat. He should just accept defeat and move on and try to rebuild his career, not continually go after rematches.
Just a shame it wasn't so for Breidis Prescott.

The situation is not entirely dissimilar to Froch v Bute

You've got to remember the rules of this debate. If he says he wants to try to fight the very best, he's arrogant.
If he wants a rematch with a guy who beat him, he's a sore loser.
If he doesn't have a rematch with a guy who beat him, he's a coward
If he goes to visit a sick kid in hospital, it's because he's desperate for the publicity.
Re: Garcia agrees rematch in uk
He deserves an enormous amount of credit for taking the rematch straight away. I see no reason why he can't win, he got caught with an absolute peach of a shot. What surprises me is that some people are still surprised. This loss doesnt make him shite, this is what the guy's about - can cause pretty much anyone problems but always in danger of getting ko'd.

Seems like this is only on khan's Facebook page. I can't see GBP or HBO letting a young, undefeated, unified champion coming off his career best win in Vegas go over to the uk for his next fight. They'll have domestic plans
