Thank you Luxembourg, and goodnight
Thank you Luxembourg, and goodnight
... or is it? Was last night the start of something for the LBF or did they just serve a convenient purpose? It was a good night for everyone involved in this promotion - an entertaining fight, sportsmanship afterwards and no controversy.
But what will happen next do you think?

Re: Thank you Luxembourg, and goodnight
It was interesting to see that Haye was wearing trainers and the post-fight interviews were done inside the ring.
Re: Thank you Luxembourg, and goodnight
I beleive that Luxembourg are now suspended from the EBU but not 100% sure so I dont know where it goes from here What is next the Luxembourg British Title ? I just dont know what will happen next What does anybody else think ?Ben Carey wrote:... or is it? Was last night the start of something for the LBF or did they just serve a convenient purpose? They don't need a Luxembourg British title, as the WBO will give all Frank's fighters their own European and International titles
Re: Thank you Luxembourg, and goodnight
Or maybe bruce will rename his titles the WBO Masters and WBO International Masters but whatever as long as you have the sanction fee you can have any belt you desiregobbles wrote:spudder56 wrote:I beleive that Luxembourg are now suspended from the EBU but not 100% sure so I dont know where it goes from here What is next the Luxembourg British Title ? Looks like the Lux Fed are still very much affiliated to the EBU according to their own website.spudder56 wrote:

Ah, not proper official then. Its just like when Bob Logist emails me and tells me to stop stealing underware off his washing line :)
Edit****
I wasn't asking for proof of your statement dondada I just thought if it was a copy of the letter sent to the LBF that you had it would make interesting reading. I 100% take you at your word.

Re: Thank you Luxembourg, and goodnight
Allegedly next promotion is scheduled for 22 September, when Dagenham’s Kevin Mitchell challenges Ricky Burns for the World Boxing Organisation’s lightweight title, and though both fighters remain fully licensed by the BBBofC, the promoter admits that the FLB may yet sanction their showdown in a move that would further undermine the BBBofC’s authority.
“I’m actually debating it,” said Allegedly. “I’m actually thinking about where to go with [Mitchell versus Burns].
“We did save money [using the FLB]. Their sanctioning fees are nowhere near [the same as the BBBofC’s], and it opened my eyes. I thought ‘wow, I’ve never thought about this side of it’. And the boxers also saved money as far as sanctioning fees are concerned, so it makes you wonder.”

They'll be a WBO British title, mark my words.
LBF are also keen to sanction white collar fights so that to a confusing mix.

The whole thing is a huge mess and needs sorting quickly before the sports descends into anarchyWake up call wrote:They'll be a WBO British title, mark my words.

Is it the board that forbids this? If that's the case it's a stupid rule.keithmoonhangover wrote:the post-fight interviews were done inside the ring.
Re: Thank you Luxembourg, and goodnight
Yes Mate the board dont allow interviews in the ring so that doctors can check both fighters first the reason being doctors would struggle to get to boxers if ring was full of tv crews and journalists etc Its Purely a safety measureBajingo wrote:Is it the board that forbids this? Re: Thank you Luxembourg, and goodnight
Yes, those that can remember Benn vs McCllellan (or have seen the footage) will know its not a stupid rule at all. How many times did Gary Newbon say "excuse me while the paramedics comes through".
Does it make a difference that the fighters are interviewed on the ring apron.
