However, I still maintain referee should not look at judges' scorecards as he gets them after each round. If there's a problem, it's recorder's problem & not ref's.
Don't hide from the truth like you normally do Anton, you know what happened very well, there are numerous people to back up this story.
There is no imagination to this, It's the truth, and nothing but the truth, also It was not forgotten the next day, your lying through your teeth again, I'm sure you remember the clip board you took to the meeting, detailing all the wrongs of the Queensland Branch??
Silly part was, I felt you were correct in many of your ideas, but Queensland being Queensland, no-one can tell them what to do, and after that night, you would never come to another meeting, no matter how hard i tried.
You also know it had nothing to do with Referees looking at Judges scorecards as they collect them, it was all to do with your "higher than mighty attitude, trying to tell them what you wanted them to do, and how they should do things like they did back in Adelaide, then Alan Simpson ripped into you like no tomorrow and told you to eff off and never come back.
Now to clarify your expert opinion, as to why most Referees look at the judges cards, it's got absolutely nothing to do with the score, because that score has already been determined, it also has absolutely nothing to with a Referee trying to see who's winning the fight, everyone knows who's winning the fight, unless your on the drink and not looking, as you often are.
I always look at the cards, as most Referees do, simply to check the Judge has signed his card. because according to the rules, He must sign his card, and by signing the card, he in effect, is declaring that he scored the said round, according to the rules and he's applied the correct scoring criteria, also according to the rules of the Organisation or Commission he is working for, ie: in regards to points deductions, fouls etc
I have many times, walked back to the Judge and asked him to sign his card, otherwise I won't accept it, as being his declaration of the round, having been scored by him in the correct manner, accoring to the rules.
Simple, but then again, as you've never been a Judge, or a Referee, and that's not a problem, as i would not expect you to know, it is mostly only ever explained at Ring officials seminars & workshops etc, and/or at most Sanctioning Organisation conventions etc, which you have never been to, and will probably never attend.
You theory about Referees looking at the cards so they can look after a certain fighter etc, is way off the mark, what can a Referee do? when the score is declared and done.
Rules are rules and Referee's most of the time, work within those rules, they have no say in who wins or loses, unless a fighter is fighting outside the rules, causing a penalty, or if he cannot defend himself, forcing the Referee to call a halt to the contest.
So that's it in a nutshell, now you have come in here and told everyone, your expert opinion? an opinion gained from timekeeping just handful of fights, before being replaced, and also from watching a few fights at the pub over the years, No biggie except your just plainly wrong.........again.
But with you never having officiated as a Judge or Referee at this level, I believe you have no right to criticize those who do, just to satisfy your out of control ego that sees you trying to be someone your not.
