Re: Enzo Maccarinelli suspended for 6 months for positive test
Reiterating the point that there's no consistancy in the punishments being given, the punishments don't seem too bad if you just cheat a bit (fighters regularly have 6 months off between fights anyway) and don't admit to what you've done, but if you try and whistleblow the extent of PEDs used in the game then you'll get four years.
I think the BBBC need drug testing, because their logic astounds me at times

Re: Enzo Maccarinelli suspended for 6 months for positive test
Wonder will the failed test be linked to the recent contamination of BCAA Plus in the UK with is a Amino Acid nutrition supplement commonly used by athletes, that was recalled as it found to mistakenly contain trace levels of methylhexaneamine???

Big Larry didn't get 4 years for trying to whistleblow, he got it for using 13 banned substances, including steroids and HGH. He didn't admit this until he was caught red-handed.Chambers2 wrote:Reiterating the point that there's no consistancy in the punishments being given, the punishments don't seem too bad if you just cheat a bit (fighters regularly have 6 months off between fights anyway) and don't admit to what you've done, but if you try and whistleblow the extent of PEDs used in the game then you'll get four years.

Enzo has failed for some sort of nasal decongestant thing, which is also a stimulant.
There are obviously different levels of drug cheats. Hence, the guy who just got slung off the Tour de France, could still be at the Olympics

Dieuretics are commonly used as making agents , when competitors are using more sinister enhancements means .

I dont think that is a diuretic though mate to be fair. Diuretics make you piss more, they can be used to help lose water weight or to mask other subtances. Thats a stimulant though found in nasal decongestants and pre work out supplements.tht6 wrote:Dieuretics are commonly used as making agents , when competitors are using more sinister enhancements means .

Ohhhh Enzo's using the old nasal congestant excuse. For a drugs cheat he seems to have been treated very leniently from where I'm sittinggobbles wrote:Big Larry didn't get 4 years for trying to whistleblow, he got it for using 13 banned substances, including steroids and HGH. To be honest thought if enzo has got off lightly for a banned substance with 6 months surely Larry with 13 banned substances should really be carrying a 6 and half yea ban?
Also CP the board have absolutly nothing to do with the ban at all its the Doping Agency thats sets the bans the board can not make them longer or short even if they wanted too.
Even if its not a nasel spray and im always a bit sceptical about these things its still one substance so if Enzo had to be treated more harshly (which i agree with) then Larry would need that times 13 to be fair.

To be fair to Enzo I havent heard him come out and use any excuse! He hasnt spoken publically about this to my knowledge.Chambers2 wrote:Ohhhh Enzo's using the old nasal congestant excuse. If I was a boxer thinking of using a PED then Enzos punishment would encourage me to use it, as even if I got caught I'd only have to spend 6 months on the sidelines (when I'd probably be spending 4-5 months on the sidelines between fights anyway). I think the BBBC are making a rod for their own back with this punishment, as every boxer testing positive will claim a dodgy nasal congestant or the like from now on

Lets not believe it has inadvertently been used in nasal decongestant .leftysreturn wrote:I dont think that is a diuretic though mate to be fair. It stimulates you , it increases the rate of urination so its a (diuretic) its banned and Enzo knows better .
Hes used illegal methods and should know better .

well if it does act as a diuretic then fair enough matetht6 wrote:Lets not believe it has inadvertently been used in nasal decongestant .leftysreturn wrote:I dont think that is a diuretic though mate to be fair. The Thing i cant understand is why if the test was after shanes fight it as not been made void and shane given is title back. BBBofC av allowed enzo to vacant the title knowing he as failed a drug test.

Was it done on the night of the fight? If so, i agree it should be returned and the result overturnedclintonmcphilbin wrote:The Thing i cant understand is why if the test was after shanes fight it as not been made void and shane given is title back. I think drugs cheats should all just be banned for life and the seriousness of the crime be punished by a bigger fine after the life ban.
Seriously though CP you keep mentioning the board causing problems with their punishment its absolutly nothing to do with the board regarding the punishment the Doping people decide the bans and the board have to go with what they say wether you agree or not with length of bans punishment etc its nothing to do with the boxing board what gets done.

[ Methylhexanamine is a common ingredient in mixtures of non-prescription STIMULANTS marketed to bodybuilders, and in STIMULANTS marketed as legal HIGHS or 'herbal ecstasy'.
References to 'geranium', 'geranium oil' or 'Pelargonium graveolens' in the listed ingredients of legal highs are believed to mean methylhexanamine. ]
ITS A STIMULANT to help you train harder , lose weight quicker and get more than your honest athlete who is doing it by the book .
ITS ILLEGAL and WRONG
