I have to be fair, Frank raises some very important points that do need answering - although his claims of not trying to capitalise on the situation sound a little hollow.
Re: Warren v Giles Rnd 1
Frank isnt wrong, Giles is a waste of Space.
Re: Warren v Giles Rnd 1
has Bunny looked at himself and his company behaviour?

Don't think so. Robert Smith isnt a steward. He names 'Reece' which presumabley is John Reece. Dont know who the other three would be.
Re: Warren v Giles Rnd 1
Smith isn't a steward. Probably Dave Roden.jizzle wrote:Who are the other stewards he wants gone? Robert Smith?

Robert is the general secretary and on the whole he does good job. I suspect the others could be Rees, Roden and Boulter.jizzle wrote:Who are the other stewards he wants gone? Robert Smith?
Re: Warren v Giles Rnd 1
I am intrigued why Roden and Boulter as well ?The Insider wrote:Robert is the general secretary and on the whole he does good job. I suspect the others could be Rees, Roden and Boulter.jizzle wrote:Who are the other stewards he wants gone? Robert Smith?
Re: Warren v Giles Rnd 1
I get the feeling Robert Smith is quite well like within the trade? Is that the case or am i off? He comes across as a fair and decent guy when ive watched him in interviews ive always thought.

He used to be a fighter and his father was a trainer I believe so I think license holders class him as one of their own. I've always thought him on the level.leftysreturn wrote:I get the feeling Robert Smith is quite well like within the trade? Is that the case or am i off? Warren does have a point. Some of the dinosaurs do need booting out of the board and its processes need reforming.
However, I don't think he's the right man to be leading this crusade as, lets just says, that he's far from a saint himself.

Perhaps the saddest thing is that a "Boxing writer" can't spell McClellan (or at least doesn't even check).
Re: Warren v Giles Rnd 1
I have to agree with Warren, there is no defending the Board, they are incompetent and hypocritical and need to embrace a complete overhaul making them more competent, transparent and accountable. Whatever you think of Warren, there are few others in the game, capable of triggering such pressure that might actually force these changes on the Board. They will never change anything on their own accord, you just have to look at their history and see that any major change over the years has been forced on them.
People banging on about the perils of setting a precedent of Lux sanctioning the Chisora-Haye in the UK should look into the some of other precedents that have occurred in the Board's own illustrious history. Cartels, cronism, racism are all part of their past. They need to make big changes, or else they could very well face stiff competition and become a shrinking force as a result.

I agree with you mate Frank has some valid points that do need addressing especially on the Transparency of accounts and accountability etc in some ways I have to agree they do need to move with the times with modern technology etc in order to save money etc because after all Frank is Correct when he says that Licence holders have a right to know exactly how Licence holders money is being spent What I dont agree with is the personal attacks on Charlie Giles who has done a lot of good work for boxing over many years The board and indeed boxing is blessed with People all over the country i.e inspectors,Area council members etc who do an awful lot of work for nothing They give up their free time for nothing apart from a little expenses for travel to Gyms and shows etc in fact I can say that Boxing actually costs the board volunteers money and that is a fact I just wish that the Board and licence holders could get together and find some common ground and move on together for the good of our great sport instead of this constant arguing There needs to be give and take on both sides and with all due respect to Frank who has also done a lot of good for the sport The board is here for everybody in the sport and not just big promotors So my message to all concerned is please start some constructive dialogue and lets all start afresh to take the sport forward again DOES ANYBODY AGREE or is the current situation going to continue indefinitely ?Newport Daz wrote:I have to be fair, Frank raises some very important points that do need answering - although his claims of not trying to capitalise on the situation sound a little hollow.

Nothing about the individual, mate. I just think they'll go for the ones who get their faces on the telly most as some sort of symbolic death ritual.spudder56 wrote:What makes you say Dave Roden ?dondada wrote:Smith isn't a steward. If given a straight choice, would you prefer the BBBoC or a rival Board led by FW?
One hopes it doesn't come to that but, you know, hypothetically speaking...?
