The rules and penalties ought to be explained and published; some of the bans look arbitrary and made up on the spin. Is a diuretic held as severe as a steroid or a fat burner? What if it's suspected the diuretic is being used as a masking agent? Rules, please?

Interesting in statement issued by FW Promotions, he thanks Robert Smith for help and support. Must have grated the Warren PR office to type that in.

I like how they referred to Enzo as a WBO title holder as opposed to a world champion. Maybe the media could pick up on this and help to distinguish between the paper champs and proper champions

Essentially, he claimed mitigation because of what happened and UKAD accepted his explanations, which tied up with the levels in his sample.
In many sports, if he could show it was accidental, he'd either get 3 months or a warning.
Tony Dodson failed for exactly the same thing and got 5 months.

'I have been tested over 20 times in my career and have never failed any random or post fight doping test, but on this occasion, due to my naivety, I have tested positive for a banned substance.

Thing is agree on yr points i think all drug cheats just get banned for life it would soon make only the most stupid or imbalanced be prepared to risk it. But where someone has done it too such an extent there should be a bigger fine

For example Larry and Enzo both banned same amount of time but larry gets a twenty grand fine enzo a 3 grand fine.

But i do think that if theres a time limit that varies then there should be variables on punishments if you have got a level of steroid in yr system that shows yr a hardcore user for a long time of the strongest drug you will get more of a ban than someone with a trace amount of some of the less powerful drugs.
I agree with your points Jon, but I think the gap between the 2 punishments is way too BIG, (if Enzo would've got a 2 year ban or Larry an 18 months ban then fair enough). A 6 month ban in boxing is soooooo ineffectual it's untrue

its only blood testing that will find out the real truth about drugs in the sport we love, urine samples are far too easy to 'mask'

Is this because he didn't cover his tracks well or actually taking them?
