looks like the end for Tapia, he was stopped in the second round by a body shot.
Chavez lost when he had to quit with a broken hand, seems like they might work out that boxing is a young mans game

Time for both to bow out, feel a bit for Chavez always bad to lose on an injury. Apparently, he is trying to tempt another ex champion, Jesse James Leija, out of retirment for a fight in January.

I don't mind what Chavez has been doing so far, fighting old men and journeymen - but if Leija is anything like the fighter he was in January then that could be horrible.

The pictures of Tapia's anguish in Fightnews was horrible - the guy just seemed to big for him.

Both Tapia and Chavez are going on too long. Although with Tapias history you worry what will happen to him when he nolonger has boxing for a focus and to keep him on the rails........

Thats my worry as well. If he doesn't find a new focus and constructive goal outside of the Boxing ring he could be in trouble.

Why is Chavez still fighting? His fight with Robinson was supposed to be a farewell match to the fans wasn't it so why is he still competing?

Interesting to see DeMarcus Corley took nine rounds to dispose of Johnny Walker the man who John Murray looked so impressive with over 6 recently.

It's all part of a 'farewell tour' dreamed up by Bob Arum (i think). Needless to say, the tour will continue 'till every dollar has been squeezed out of the Chavez name.

Not totally sure, but I think Chavez was going on similar tours during the early 90's. Goodness knows how much money this guy has generated...

Well when people were mentioning Chavez i wasn't 100% they were on about Julio Cesar as i thought why is he still fighting?! So i checked the results and accidently found Corley-Walker sitting there on the list so thought it was worth a mention

Bare in mind Corley isn't an offensive fighter so his finishing skills aren't his greatest asset. Plus Walkers a decent journeyman who comes to survive. John Murray looks the business all the same

Its always sad when a great boxer suffers a loss like Chavez did, but i always think that the guy who won will at least earn a couple of decent paydays on the back of it.
