He might not be everyones cuppa but thats a bit harsh. Robin gives his all, I'm sure he's more sorry than most that he's not an elite fighter. If you have an issue with his record/attitude/and the fact it is allowed, then it goes way beyond Robin so you might want to ease up a bit on the disabled kid who was never supposed to walk :TU:
My post was vague. He erupted on twitter at me for nothing. He showed himself to me to be a complete arsehole. I'll never diss a journeyman's credentials, but I certainly won't praise this tit.

What happened? What did you say to him? You are not the type to wind people up online. :-?
He made a tweet about Amy Childs being a role-model and someone to look up to. I asked him why (as simple as that). He flipped calling me a prick and attention-seeker. It developed from there but I'll leave it at.

He's served the sport well, done his part in helping develop prospects. Kudos there. That's it though.

He was one of the worst journeymen out there tbh, wasn't competitive in most fights and got hit way too much. Also seems abit of a pudendum aswell by Twitter.

Whats your problem? Cant stand arseholes like you. Your brave behind a PC screen yeah? . You wouldn't say it to his face would you. Have you even stepped in between the ropes? What would Ben Murphy do to you in the ring, thought about that? :OhYes: Gill beat Ryiaz, nothing wrong with that decision. Why you got so much hate in you? Is it because you have a small penis? Are ugly? or your Mrs left you?

Also, can you spell? You not texting you know. How old are you? 14?

The key thing for me is the manner in which he is defeated. If you are getting stopped regularly or are taking far too many shots and fighting 10-15 times a year, somebody has to have the job of saying,"enough is enough, son."

Don't get me wrong, we need journeymen in boxing, but we need journeymen who are consistently going to last the whole contest. Getting TKO/KOd once, let alone 20% of the time is dangerous.

Credit where credit is due, to step in to the ring after such adversity is admirable. Reminds of a quote: 'Any man can win when things are going his way, but it is the man who overcomes adversity that is the true champion.'

Best of luck to him.

Robin Deakin does not train and it was fair for the board to do what they did in taking his licence away. If he can prove he will train they maybe they may/could re-consider. Remember Deakin was a good amateur and was originally signed by allegedly.

To insult Phil Gill on here is an absolute disgrace. If you have ever seen him fight he wears his heart on his sleeve and gives great value for money. There are plenty of fights out there for Phil Dean Byrne, Phil Bowes (two I promote for example). It's disrespectful and it annoys me that keyboard warriors write this rubbish when they wouldnt have the bottle to step between those ropes.

Robin wears his heart on his sleeve, Steve if nothing else, you know that from the Audley-Ali presser. Unfortunately Robin doesn't know when to bite his lip, and you're right in that he doesn't train, but he is a nice lad. Sorry to say that regardless of losses, his performances have declined. As you say, allegedly signed him up as a pro, off the back of a recommendation from Steve Collins. There was a time small hall promoters would come on here and laud him as a show-saver. Hope the sport looks after him.

Totally agree James. His mouth does him no favours and he saves the show but there is no point someone saving the show who is not fit.

He has upset too many people in the sport. When I first had dealings with him I found him rude and obnoxious. After getting to know him I really like him and would do anything to help him.

He is on a reality TV show next week so hopefully that helps him.

Deakin gave every one of the Hyland brothers one hell of a fight, the videos should be on the Eastside Boxing Club website along with pictures of the bouts. Robin is a lovely guy and has been a credit to the sport. I did mention his training and coaching a few years ago on a forum and it got me in trouble so I'll keep my mouth shut this time.

That's all fair Steve. I got to know Robin fairly well and my opinion also grew as time went on. If he got himself fit and won a minor title there is a book with his name on it, some of the personal stuff that has gone on is jaw-dropping. When I saw your presser, I was disappointed with him and could see why he doesn't endear himself to some people. He's a nice kid, full of beans and would talk to anyone, but he also needs boxing in some shape or form for his well being (ironically the same well being that led to the understandable withdrawal of his licence).
