Looking too far ahead. Adamek is the benchmark, and he's a long way short of LHW Adamek right now. It's certainly possible with his frame, but he could do with becoming a top light-heavy before considering anything else.

It's strange because I'm sure I read that he wants out of boxing at an early age. Anyhow I saw him take a few flush in the face against Bomber and to his credit he took them. Would it be the same story at heavyweight, mmm can't be too sure about that.

I am not sure what to make of this. He is 6ft2 so he is a long rangy Light Heavyweight and he is still in his early 20s, but I do think he will end up going up to Cruiserweight but I do feel Heavyweight is a bridge too far in my opinion when you consider the shape of the modern heavyweights.

Got nothing against the lad, and I like to watch him box, but the only way he wins against any half decent heavyweight is if he uses a lead pipe or something. He doesn't hit hard enough, and he's far too easy to hit.

Technically, he's not improved one iota since he beat the likes of Murat, Brancallion etc - his footwork is getting worse and his punches are poorly delivered. He gets by on a ridiculously good engine and plenty of stones, but when (or rather if) he faces harder hitters he's going to be getting nailed.

He's got all the potential to go further in boxing, but unless the changes are made it'll go unrealised.

When Cleverly beat McIntosh I was really impressed. You could see he had a lot of qualities, a little rough here and there...a bit too macho at times…but you get that with up and comers…

I liked it that he was a student. Good to break the mould.

But I have to say he hasn’t really blossomed like I thought he would.

I think that when a fighter wins a title in the ring they really have to step up and make it happen. Cleverly was sort of robbed of this opportunity. And maybe the world title came a bit too quick. He now has a title, but still needs to improve before taking on the best the division has to offer. Which means him taking risky fights to defend the title, or easy fights and then not really improving…

I’m also a big fan on Bomber Bellew. Tony seems to have improved a hell of a lot. Nathan’s momentum has dissipated whilst Tony’s is still accelerating.

If there is a rematch. And there really should be (I scored the first fight a draw)…then I’d back Tony to win.

But they are both top boxers who I hope go onto have big successes.

We deserve Cleverly-Bellew II and III. Rivalries really make the sport and this has the makings of a classic rivalry.

Yup, Nathan has not really progressed ability wise. As someone said, he has got by on having great stamina and plenty of bottle but that will take you so far. I have said it time and again, W@rren and his team do not improve boxers, they guide them the right way, taking the road of least resistence, for maximum profit. This is all well and good, if you view it as purely business but a fighter is supposed to improve, get better and all that and I am afraid with Nathan, same as pretty much all W@rren managed / promoted fighters, they never do. It is a shame as the kid does have some core attributes to be a very good fighter.

As for HW talk. Yeah, this is just his Dad spewing his usual bollocks, trying to keep Nathan's name in the picture.
