Not sure why there is an obsession with painting the Joshua loss as a shaft job...from what I see it was a razor thin decision....bit classless I say. Let's save the moaning for the real bad decisions

Yeah, they must be top quality at fiddling if they managed to do it by just a point, mind.thepocketrocket wrote:I did...thought it was close mate. Then again, I thought Big Anthony won but I suppose, I would...

Richie Woodhall has done a superb job with the Amateurs in my view. Think back to the years when we were lucky to be getting 1 boxer to the Olympics.

Seen a few of the draws come through on Twitter, can someone tell me when the men's boxing comp starts ? Internet is crap here and I can't find a schedule
Re: Richie Woodhall gives BoxRec a run down of Team GB
Starts tomorrow, Finishes on the last day ! Normally one or two days off but what with the women too this year it might be on all 15 days !MightyWarrior wrote:Seen a few of the draws come through on Twitter, can someone tell me when the men's boxing comp starts ? If I had to choose 3 gold medal winners i will go for big Anthony Joshua, vasyl lomenchenko, and Katy Taylor !

Nice one Ian
Heard good things about them all - Campbell, Selby and Evans in particular.
Off to watch this Sat and next Weds. Come on GB!!

who's got predictions, then?
i think the men's team will get 3 medals, at least one gold (Stalker Campbell or Jshua)

The decision was fair.thepocketrocket wrote:Not sure why there is an obsession with painting the Joshua loss as a shaft job...from what I see it was a razor thin decision....bit classless I say. Let's save the moaning for the real bad decisions
It's easy to complain when a British boxer loses a close fight in their opponent's backyard.
Re: Richie Woodhall gives BoxRec a run down of Team GB
Hopefully there's a few home decisions in these Olympics like there seems to be in every other amateur event.Counter-puncher wrote:who's got predictions, then?

If so, could well have a few medals coming/driving home.

Aye, she will do well to get through the 1st round. I can see Ireland doing very well at these Olympics.jBacca wrote:Yeah he misses Nevin and the Cuban doesn't he?

I'm gona stick with 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals for the guys and 2 medals for the girls would be great !Counter-puncher wrote:who's got predictions, then?

It was very close so you can't really argue with it going by one point either way. If it had been scored by rounds Joshua might have edge it 2 rounds to 1. I thought he looked hurt in the 2nd tho.dondada wrote:Yeah, they must be top quality at fiddling if they managed to do it by just a point, mind.
