Re: Brentwood
Mr Ayling does indeed reside there.
Wales - why do you ask ? Don't live there but worked there a lot.

Re: Brentwood
the only time joe boxed at brentwood was when he beat my brother mark in a british title defence (the fight was top of the bill) you might be on about the festival hall in basildon as he boxed there twice and georgie smith would of topped there matejessi wrote:Lived in basildon for a while, worked in Brentwood for 5 years, watched Joe calzaghe on the undercard to Georgie smith at the Brentwood centre in something like 1995 !Wales wrote:Anyone here from brentwood?
Re: Brentwood
Georgie Smith was a very good puncher coming up; didn't he KO Paul Ryan in the amateurs? Georgie looked like butter wouldn't melt but he could fight.

Re: Brentwood
Glad to hear Georgie is ok, his a lovely bloke but I feared he might get involved with the wrong sort of people after his boxing career, I boxed with him for a short period of time at canvey abc, he was just turning pro after I done one season, I sparred with his brother David a few times, I was about 10kg bigger but he was class, canvey at that time won best Essex club for something like 10 years in a row durning the 90's !Darcy Delaney wrote:i still speak to Georgie and he's doing really well he's built a gym and is doing 1 2 1's and fitness classes and he's got a couple of fighters that he helps outjessi wrote:Boxed with him as an amateur for a few years and his brother David too.palooka wrote:Georgie Smith was a very good puncher coming up; didn't he KO Paul Ryan in the amateurs? Re: Brentwood
As far as unlicensed goes I used to go watch my uncle fight down the Tavern, and my mate has had 3 fights down there so I've been to them, but I'll watch proper boxing no matters whos fighting... i dont bother with unlicensed if its not a mate, and i couldnt give a fcuk for cage fighting. my old man doesnt mind it but its not for me.Darcy Delaney wrote:there has been a bit of the unlicenced boxing and some cage fighting there mark potter has been up there fighting@matt___s wrote:I'm from Rainham, only down the road. i know what you mean mate i boxed at the tavern a couple of times and it aint for me i'd rather go and see a pro show any day of the week, i found that on the unlicenced shows everyone thought they were gangsters@matt___s wrote:As far as unlicensed goes I used to go watch my uncle fight down the Tavern, and my mate has had 3 fights down there so I've been to them, but I'll watch proper boxing no matters whos fighting... i dont bother with unlicensed if its not a mate, and i couldnt give a fcuk for cage fighting. my old man doesnt mind it but its not for me.Darcy Delaney wrote:there has been a bit of the unlicenced boxing and some cage fighting there mark potter has been up there fighting@matt___s wrote:I'm from Rainham, only down the road.
