Ricky Burns

I remember watching his pro-debut on Sky (Audley Harrison undercard i think, or maybe a Harrison undercard), he looked useful, very good with his feet and with his jab. I kept an eye out for him but he dissapeared for a couple of years (injury???) and i heard nothing of him since.

I had almost forgotten his name until reading a piece just now about him calling out Arthur. Upon checking his record for the first time in a long time i see his is now 13-0 with what appears to be a good win over G.Earl. (Anyone see this fight?)

Who has seen him fight recently, thoughts and opinions please!

He totally schooled Earl for 8 rounds, with lots of movement and a good jab if memory serves me right. Looks like one to watch based on that performance. Not a puncher but very slick. He's still winning. Earl did go on to beat Kevin Bennett so he could have underestimated Burns and had a warm up fight mentality. Time will tell with Burns

Burns will fight Allesandro Di Meco for the vacant EU belt on october 21st in Napoli with Rosanna Conti Cavini promoting.

Di Meco looks like a come forward banger type. Ricky should be able to handle him. It should be clear cut enough for the judges.
