I've not seen Ogogo's fight yet- and sincerely i'm dead pleased for the lads but victory must be so empty. I'd go as far to say that Joshua's fight last night looked a bribe. It looked totally dodgy. I watched it again and there is simply no way anyone watching could consider him the winner of that fight - computer shit scoring or otherwise.

Joshua looked formidible on the odd occasion he did manage to string a couple of shots together and he definately hurt the cuban with a neat right hand but your sending out the wrong message to the fighter, and the young lads watching the sport. That cuban was superb he moved like an older ali at times. it was great to watch and that talent should be applauded. That Cuban prob would have won the lot and Joshua would have had a comedable performance against the eventual Gold Medalist- instead now he has an olympic run that is going to be shrouded in contoversy by all but the most optimistic boxing fans.

Every Olympics has it's 'dodgy' decisions, the vast majority in favour of the home favourite. I'll not knock these yet as I'm old enough to remember Roy Jones in 1988; that was the bench mark for obvious chiccanery; I can just about remember that not every decision at the LA games in '84 was thought to be kosher.

Ogogo's was nowt like Joshua's mate. Watch it with a bit of refinement in mind. It was close. The Ukrainian lad gave an unbelievable amount of pressure and would have won in the pro ranks every time. But a lot of his shots weren't scoring ones, IMO. He did well.

The Cuban beat Joshua comfortably, I thought.

Theres games are no more biased then when they where in china. Who when i watched the commonwealth games in india or the world championship. Also the last chance to get to theres olympics where in turkey they av never had anybody go b4 and 5 went though. Dont make it right but at least where getting how chance for glory.

It's funny really that you get track & field events, swimming events etc that get everything bang on to the hundredth of a second in order to ascertain the true victor. And yet in boxing we can't even recognise a clear winner.

Anyone see the Romanian get the shaft against the Uzbekistan boxer who was knackered/running/clinching after the first round whilst the Romanian was chasing and picking him off? The result - a wide decision loss for the Romanian who was the only boxer in the Olympic team.
I've got tickets for the semi finals but i'm starting to dread it will be an infuriating experience.

I think Taylor may have suffered a bit from the judges after the two dodgy home decisions. They probably did not want to be accused of another one.

I am not sure he won but it was closer than 15-10.

surely joshua lost, much as i wanted him to win i had him losing the final round by 4 shots, he was 2 up going into the round, therefore he loses by 2....so how did he win??

Every amateur tournament features dodgy results. Whether that's due to officials being bent or incompetent is a different matter. I'm not sure why people are surprised by this happening now.

The majority of these officials officiating amateur and pro shows are dinosaurs, they don't give a flying fornicate who wins, loses or draws as long as they get put up in a 5* hotel and get waited on hand and foot.

The scoring system doesn't need overhauled the people implementing it do. An injection of youth is whats needed.

That article is basically in favour of the old scoring system though, which was even shitter. It meant that fighters would dance around landing pitter pat shots and scoring a load of points. The one good thing about this Olympics is at least the fights have been less like fencing and more like boxing.

Apart from that though it pretty much sums up what most people are feeling. At the end of the day the problem comes down to corruption and/or incompetence. I don't how you solve that problem.

The referree Frank Scharmach who DQ the Iranian boxer Ali Mazaheri has been suspended for 5 days for his handling of the bout. Scharmach should of been sent home, also if the Aiba are saying that he wasn't good enough why has the appeal from Mazaheri not been upheld?

They've admitted guilt by their actions against the ref.

The Olympics are a ticket to fame and riches in this country, but for places like the Eastern Bloc and Cuba - their a ticket out of extreme poverty.

I'd have liked to have thought that we'd be the most honourable hosting nation to date.

I thought Joshua and Agogo lost, but have kept an open mind on the Agogo fight.

I make no apologies for saying they lost, but it would seem many 'friends' of the boxers are camouflaging their true gut feeling on these bouts, especially on twitter & Facebook. Some are divi g on their swords in dramatic fashion to be seen as 'supporting team GB' which is a bit silly.

If you think they lost, just say it ffs.

Fights are scored differently in the ams and that's something i think people are forgetting. You can be all over a fighter but if you're only landing on gloves and the other guy throws 5 jabs that land cleanly, chances are you'll be 5-0 down.

Standing counts only confirm the punch, they don't add anything extra. Ogogo would have gone through 18-17 if the red hadn't given him the count for taking a punch on the gloves.

Ogogo and Joshua were in tough, tight contests. I had Joshua down by 1 and Ogogo up by one. Neither were robberies, the judges are basing it on clean punches and have different views.

If any of you are going then take your cynical hats off and enjoy the occasion. It is a great day which will hopefully have a cracking atmosphere like yesterday, especially if a GB or Irish fighter is involved.
