Kell Brook back in training
Kell Brook back in training
Kell's back training and ready to really knuckle down and send out a message. There's a few changes in place designed to make sure Kell's preparation is totally professional in every sense.
I hear that Eddie Hearn has made it plain that he expects the best and won't tolerate any nonsense. He's backed that up by offering to personally pay for the very best sparring and anything else Kell needs. Good to see Hearn taking this route and really putting his money where his mouth is; all credit to him.
Kell's turned up back at the gym in great shape, very close to the weight and eager to go.
Hope this now draws a line under the rumours. Let's hope the problems in the latter stages re Jones turn out to be just the wake up call Kell needed.

Re: Kell Brook back in training
He needs to lose the weight correctly, nutritionist should be on board as well
Re: Kell Brook back in training
Nope and i hear that Rob has made it plain that he had nothing to do with those rumours and would never seek to tempt away a fighter when he's settled with his training team. Touch of class from McCracken to make that known, i say ...Casio wrote:Thats great to hear as he's a fantastic talent!!
So just to confirm then - Rob McCracken will have no involvement in the training etc of Kell Brook?
Re: Kell Brook back in training
This is good to hear. Hopefully, as you've already stated, his last fight will end up being a positive in that it's acted as a wake-up call and made Kell learn the lesson that all the greatest champions understand - talent will only take you so far. To be the best that talent has to be harnessed to a ferocious work ethic and level of commitment. If he can make those changes I see no reason why he can't go all the way.

Kell is a wiked tallent and will become world champion
Re: Kell Brook back in training
I think Brook's experiences in that fight will stand him in good stead, and I think it would have been very harsh on Dominic Ingle if he was given the elbow.

If it's Eddie paying someone needs to get in contact with Mike Dolce (an mma guy).
Quite a few mma guy's have been using him and by all accounts he's great at getting weight off in a safe manner. Food and water manipulation rather than a sweatsuit and sauna.

He could always hire Dominic Ingle who always did a great job with Naz, Nelson and Witter.

Re: Kell Brook back in training
Sure it will be Hector Saldivia as the next opponent so that he is at least number 2 with the IBF.danfoster wrote:Yes but am sure they'd like to announce the fight themselves so just sit tight, sure there'll be a big announcement soon.Bennyblanco wrote:Fair play

Chris Kemp is the strength & conditioner for barker so he may get involved with Kell beginning of September

Re: Kell Brook back in training
It surprised me after the Jones fight that Brook said he hadn't done the weight correctly, it those little mistakes that can cost a boxer dear. At least it looks like he's learnt from that lesson.danfoster wrote:Watch this space mate, conditioning and nutrition specialists to be announced ...Old bones Ian wrote:He needs to lose the weight correctly, nutritionist should be on board as well

Re: Kell Brook back in training
Without any knowledge of Dolce and MMA, would his diet give a boxer strength later in a fight? as the few MMA bouts i've seen have been over quickly, and a boxer needs to be strong for 36 minutes at the top level minimumArtOfWar wrote:If it's Eddie paying someone needs to get in contact with Mike Dolce (an mma guy).

Re: Kell Brook back in training
I know he has a baby daughter now so wouldnt be easy but he would benefit from training away from sheffield for the level of fighters he is coming up against now.
Took far too much hammer from jones and it is only gonna get tougher complete focus and dedication and his skills will be sharp enough to beat anyone IMO.
Really want to see Kell realise his potential as a credible World champion it will go some way to repairing the damage to our reputation across the pond at the hand of King Khan.

That's exactly what his diet is for. It stops fighters from draining themselves and having nothing left in the tank come fight time.Old bones Ian wrote:Without any knowledge of Dolce and MMA, would his diet give a boxer strength later in a fight? as the few MMA bouts i've seen have been over quickly, and a boxer needs to be strong for 36 minutes at the top level minimumArtOfWar wrote:If it's Eddie paying someone needs to get in contact with Mike Dolce (an mma guy).
