Post by Bennyblanco »

So brook Saldivia has been confirmed for 20th October in Sheffield.

Anyone know much about Saldivia? How do you see this fight going?

How many times is Brook going to have a 'final eliminator'?

Last one was an eliminator, not a final eliminator.

This will make him mandatory challenger to the winner of Bailey Vs Alexander - think its the right way to go. Eddie doesn't want to be shelling out millions of ££ to go to a states where there will be no end of clause's.

This is a great move

Saldivia is 42-2 with 32 KO's - His best opponent for me was Said Ouali which he was KO'd in the 1st round after knocking Oauli down. So may have some power but think Kell will be to slick.

Also Eddie is due to announce a HUGE undercard for this.

Correct ! It's all about becoming mandatory, so you have some type of control, don't know about his last fight though, could not see the point in taking that, this one though is a good move, Bailey is getting older all the time.

to be fair eddie said immedietley after the Jones fight they would have another fight as a final eliminator. So its no big surprise.

Must admit ive never heard of Saldivia. Quick trip to the search page to find out who he is i guess.

Surely it'd make sense to try and get this in the states rather than in Sheffield?

He'll have to travel over their for the world title fight, he might as well try to get some exposure before then and get accommodated to the conditions over there. Might as well try to get on a big undercard for this fight and get more people tuning in for his big one...

Interesting to hear Adam Smith commentating on that: Saldivia getting flattened inside a round.

He must have gone slightly pale when his new business partner Eddie Hearn suggested this guy as Kell's next prime time opponent.

But Eddie manages to convince him it's a great fight. Not a good sign for Sky's new quality controller is it.

Imagine if Fwank stuck this on BN and Eddie put Burns-Mitchell on Sky. Everyone would be cancelling there tenner a month instantly and sticking with the bargain £50 a month!

Saldivia's team must be friends with someone in the IBF because he's a crude fighter and has been knocking over bums in his hometown on soleobox and ESPN Friday nights.

He's never travelled nor had a big audience so I fully expect Brook to destroy him inside 3 rounds and swiftly move on to fight Devon Alexander.

The Ingles know all about Devon, having took Witter over to fight him already, so Kell should be well drilled on winning that title.

Will surely have to be a decent undercard as the main event won't sell that many on its own. Not sure who Eddie has to put on this though, with a lot of the matchroom fighters tied up on the Barker and Frampton shows already.

I assumed Kell had made quite a name for himself in sheffield and is now deemed a good ticket seller. Especially after the Carson Jones fight and the mainstream attention he got from that epic fight.

I think this will sell over 6000 tickets like the Jones fight did.

Gavin Ree's could be on there.

I can see the upcoming guys been on or alternatively it could be a prizefighter.

I think this will sell well. Kell is v popular in Sheffield and with the Ingle link too he's really got the whole city's attention.

Rees is a top fighter these days and would be a good main undercard attraction. I actually do think that Eddie will put together a good card coz all his shows in Sheffield have been really good value so far.

I agree the last one with Carson was amazing - Ree's Vs Matthews, Proksa vs Hope and all the others
