Was at the fight last night and I though Stalker won the last round but I also felt the Mongolian clearly on the first, which I believe was also scored level.
Though the scoring was a bit back-to-front I felt the Mongolian was a fair winner.

And theres no need to guess who the two GB boxers are is it..Price stated enigmatically: "2 GB boxers names are on gold medals. No matter what happens. Mark my words. We'll see who they are. Good luck to them. It's how it works."

Stalker should have lost his previous fight though!
He was a touch unlucky last night but you can't just brush his first victory of the games under the carpet. His opponent's 4 years hard work was ruined by the officials then.
I do agree that some fighters are penciled in for medals and he is probably correct regarding the British guys. Mind you, Joshua just beat Beijing's silver medallist and to win gold will have to get by either the reigning Olympic or World Champion, who can both bang so he certainly hasn't got it easy.

That is what I thought as well.J-C wrote:I though Stalker won the last round but I also felt the Mongolian clearly on the first, which I believe was also scored level.

I didn't see Stalkers first fight but understand that the judging could have gone either way - I wonder what Price's thoughts were on that ?
Re: Some choice words from Big David Price re Olympic officials
Really surprised people are questioning the first fight. It was a struggle for Stalker because he was rusty but I never saw him in trouble (points-wise). Admittedly I've only seen the fight once so I'll watch it again.bripez wrote:That is what I thought as well.J-C wrote:I though Stalker won the last round but I also felt the Mongolian clearly on the first, which I believe was also scored level.

He threw a lot of punches but most of it was pitter-patter digs against the gloves.J-C wrote:From where I was sitting Mangiacapre looked the business.
