I've always held the opinion that lighter guys can move up the rankings faster.
I'd say that Khan's already good enough for the top 50.
Lack of early competition surely came back to haunt Naseem Hamed?
Amir's still holding his head up a little too much, often lowering his right hand, and occasionally standing square.
Obviously what he needs is an opponent who'll exploit him, but without the tools for a KO.
He reminds me of Herol Graham actually; anyone remember Julian Jackson's KO?

This is embarrasing Steve Gethin was stopped in 3 rds against featherwieght Steve Foster yet he is allowed to take on 10st Amir Khan on national tv . The BBBC need to stop this bout Gethin could get hurt.
Why dont they put Khan in with Ernie Smith a durable Journeyman puts up a fight and can take a dig.

That's the thing. I don't want to start criticising Khan's opposition at this stage and fully expect him to take on guys with 3 times as many defeats as victories, but it's this 2-weights below thing, it's bullying plain and simple and shouldn't be allowed.

KHAN TARGETING WORLD GLORY
Amir Khan will use his his third professional fight in Glasgow in November as a stepping stone to becoming the youngest world champion since 21-year-old Prince Naseem Hamed beat Steve Robinson in Cardiff a decade ago to become WBO featherweight champion.
The British Olympic silver medalist, with two professional victories behind him, will take on Steve Gethin on the undercard of Scott Harrison's WBO featherweight title fight against an as yet unnamed opponent on November 5.
And the 18-year-old is looking to take another step towards eclipsing Hamed's record.
He said: "I look to go one better than Naseem. He was 21 when he won a world title and I want to be one of the youngest world champions ever, that's one of my goals.
"But I am in no rush. I want to build it up slowly - British, Commonwealth and European and then the world.
"allegedly (Khan's promoter) has said it will be fairly soon, maybe next year. I am fighting every two months which is not bad really. That will be six times per year and in the amateurs sometimes you box six times in a week!
"But allegedly knows what's best for me and he's going to get me the fights for me and he will know when I am going to peak for the title fights."
Khan's manager and promoter Warren insists he will have Braehead Arena packed with 6,000 fans for the appearance of Khan and Harrison despite not knowing who the Glaswegian's opponent is as yet.
He said: "We did have an opponent for Scott over the weekend called Spend Abazi and he is ranked by all the organisations but the guy broke his elbow in sparring and is out. But we will come up with a ranked opponent by Thursday.
"I am a very positive person and I know that we will sell out. I won't even consider that we can't sell it out because we will, I am absolutely confident.
"There are some cracking fights, it's a good card there and hopefully everybody will be pleased with the opponent we announce for Scott on Thursday.
"You have got one of the best champions that we have had in Scott and another fighter in Amir that a lot of people consider to be the future of boxing.
"So if you are a boxing fan then you have got to buy a ticket for it."
Harrison revealed he will lock himself away in his Fort William training camp for six weeks before the fight.
He said: "I will be up there for the whole duration of the training and then come back down the week before the fight.
"It's ideal up there and I will go into the ring in 10 times better shape than I would if I was there for three weeks. So you will see a better performance on the night."
