The Last Stand of Wlad Klitschko?
This weekend it's one of those heavyweight fights we get every now and then, that actualy sets the pulse racing: Two massive punchers meeting in a risky cross roads fight, where anything can happen.
The bookies seem to think Wlad is damaged goods, and Peter is the real McCoy - but is he the next coming, or another mirage?
Who wins??

The longer the fight goes the better the chances are for Wladi. His chin has to handle with Peters punches in the first rounds. If he didn´t get the KO early he could win in the later rounds by KO or UD. His fitness should be better than Peter´s.
Fortunately they show the fight in free tv but we are not able to watch any other fight in the US or UK because our Pay-TV doesn´t show any more boxing and that´s sad..... :(

Kinda gutted when Sky said this one wouldn't be live.
Very rare nowadays that you get an interesting heavyweight fight. Anyway, I've switched back and forth a few times, and I really think it's one of those ones where you won't get a clear view till the ringwalks/opening bell... which makes the fact it isn't live all the worse.
Shouldn't complain of course, since last year we probably wouldn't even have heard it mentioned.

I haven't seen much of Peter admittedly, but from what I have: he's not too fast is he?BubiScholz wrote:The longer the fight goes the better the chances are for Wladi. His chin has to handle with Peters punches in the first rounds.
He'll have a job getting past that left hand of Wlad, and might find himself on the end of the big right hand. Better have a good chin if that's the case.

He might be quite quick early, though I'd expect him to slow down if it gets past 6. If Wlad manages to keep him out of range with the jab and right hand it could be a nasty night for Peter...MightyWarrior wrote:I haven't seen much of Peter admittedly, but from what I have: he's not too fast is he?BubiScholz wrote:The longer the fight goes the better the chances are for Wladi. Says it all about the heavyweight division at the moment that the best fight in the division so far this year is between a chinny Ukrainian and a untested Nigerian who is still learning.
I was in Vegas when when Peter wiped out Williams. Devastating KO but Williams hands were down by his waist so it was a free shot.

Such a hard fight to call, Can Peter slip Wlad's shots? Can Peter take Wlad shots? What is Peter's stamina like? Can Wlad take Peter's shot? Can Wlad get rid of the demons and fight like he was 3 years back?
Lots of questions, not sure which way to go. Just have this sneaking feeling recently though that Wlad might just be too quick and big for Peter and Peter will not be able to slip/take Wlad's shots.
I see an early KO and I'm just starting to sway for Wlad.
Credit for both fighters for taking this fight.
I agree with the threads title, if Wlad loses its over.

To be honest I think Wladimir will outclass Peter. It's an amazing fight, I am looking forward to this fight more than any other heavyweight fight in recent memory. Two huge punchers, one with a proven weak chin and another untested against real heavy hitters.
We always hope that the up and comers step up sooner rather than later but I think this is a foolish fight for Peter to take, there is more to lose than gain in my opinion. I can see Peter starting well but the step up in class will be too much and he'll be out of there within 5. But I hope I'm wrong because Peter is an exciting and unbeaten fighter.

To be fair, I'm not yet convinced Wlad does have a weak chin. If you give him the benefit of the doubt about the Brewster disaster - no stamina that night and mental demons too - then that leaves the Sanders result.
And I reckon those Sanders left hooks would've floored any heavyweight in the world.
It's heavyweights, so anything can happen, but I'm leaning towards Wlad by TKO.

Boom Boom!!!
I guess all of you still haven't realised just how good Peter CAN box. But it will finally dawn on all of you, after this fight. Peter is a solid boxer, with a very good, powerful jab. Not to mention his TNT punch, from both hands. All Peter has to do is keep pressure on Wlad, and keep Wlad backing up. Peter will take a few good shots from Wlad early on, but they won't have as much impact on him as you all think. This will discourage Wlad, and that is when Peter will come on strong.
Wlad will be surprised on how good Peter can jab back. That will be Peters first small victory in the fight. From there, Wlad will begin to unravel slowly.... Unless Peter plans to come out bombing... then it could be over with quickly, and be overwith in ugly fashion for Wlad....

Peter is not a good boxer, he has raw power but limited skills and is slow as shit. Please tell me when he has displayed these pugilistic skills as I have never seen them.HeavyHitters wrote:I guess all of you still haven't realised just how good Peter CAN box.
