Stone Roses Guitarist Aziz will be at ringside on Friday to cheer on The Silent Assassin - Ali Nuumbembe.

Bez and Shaun Ryder are still hoping to confirm they can make it too.

Aziz is good friends with Ali, while the Happy Mondays duo live just down the road from The Glossop based boxer.

There is also rumours that Freddy Flintoff and Ricky Hatton will be ringside too.

This show is attracting a lot of attention on Friday because it is a quality line up by Matchroom with good competitive contests.

David Walker is bringing a few hundred southeners with him and Jamie Moore has his usual army of fans, so if the atmoshphere is anything like his last fight its gonna be electric.

Its good to see Sky are getting serious with boxing again as I feel that ITV will be a flash in the pan and their show on Friday has become a bit of a joke.

No disrespect to the boxers, but its not exactly television material is it?

If you gonna miss Fridays Sky Tv show then you must be mad.

Aziz joining was the final nail in the coffin for the corpse of the Stone Roses....

That said, it does look a cracking bill. If it's anywhere near the last Jamie Moore card, I'll be a happy viewer.

Was it balls, it was Ian Brown's shite performance at Reading that was the beginning of the end.

Az is officially one of the best guitarists in the World, he is still going strong and has just released an album with Paul Weller.

He has just been honoured by The Queen for his part in British music, but funnily enough he did write the song 'Corpses' for Ian Brown's new album.

I'm not saying he's a bad guitarist, it's just that he wasn't really one of the Roses. Not his fault I suppose, it was all over when he joined them, what with Reni and Squire gone. Corpses is a great tune. A few years old now, though.

Squire is a quality guitarist, i actually liked The Seahorses, Ian Brown is notoriously bad live.

Back to the Boxing and i will watch the ITV card live and watch the SKY one the next morning i think

On the roses, I agree. I cannot say I was a fan of the seahorses (although probably because I wanted to see the Roses back together) but yes, Brown was and is awful live. The guy seriously cannot sing in tune, Reading was his most well known "poor performance" but he's never been any good. I quite like his solo stuff but I do wonder what machines he uses to sound any good, because I have never heard him sing well live. Similar to Avril Lavenge, no I am not a fan of her music, but boy she cannot sing for toffee live, her vocals sound okay on recorded stuff.

I will probably do that as well regarding to the boxing.

Ian Brown was actually able to sing when I saw the Roses in Leicester, just before it all went tits-up. I can only presume it wasa one-off, because I've never heard him do it again.

As for the boxing, it's the Sky bill for me. I'll record the ITV bill.

It's easy to make someone sound good on record, plenty of reverb, filtering, pitch bending and emulation, chorusing multiple vocal tracks together. Almost anyone can be made to sound passable.

Wasn't their biggest fan but The Complete Stone Roses was a great album.

And I'll be watching the Sky fight: Jamie Moore is a bit of a TV star.

the remix album is even better an hour of pure gold as different artist remix the classic trax.

Grooveriders version of Fools gold is demented but quality great to slap pads to if you are so inclined.

i do love that tune mind and that will be what i listen to when "crunching" and doing my weights tonight.

i was pathetic lasdt night first night of the new regime and 75 sit ups was all i could do. Gotta improve.

Noel Gallagher did say Aziz had the hardest job in the world.

But he's doing very well now, has been touring the World and has his own recording studio.

Believe me the guy can play 8)

Back to boxing,

Sky's show on Friday will be electric.

ITV's show on Friday will be poor.

(my opinion of course)

Did some weights, press ups, shoulder presses and sit ups for the first time in about a year on Sunday night. Even stirring my coffee hurts every muscle in my body today.

good lad if it hurts then its worth it.

got rugby training tonight, bit of gym work to start then ball skills and C.V. work followed by a training game
Squash tomrrow night
an hour of five a side football Thurs
Squahsd friday
Sat running and padwork

Sunday slob out.

Monday squash and repeat.

combine that wioth no alcohol and frui galorer and i should get fit-ish inside 3 weeks but probably wont have any knees left and will be going out my mind with boredom..

Steamed vegetables, rice and fish for me pretty much every day. Lost a bit of weight already, my 34 waist jeans are actually becoming loose on me which is remarkable.

Still look better with the lights off mind.

i know im bored already, shopping xconsists of fruit, salad, juices, muesli, unsalted nuts, sushi and no friggin alcohol and
