Cheers for the heads up, I had no idea... There was no negotiation. His immediate asking price was astronomical and wouldn't budge from it. Unlike the guy currently in negotiations who is a better option I'd say, anyway.

K9 is an American with a title and a reputation over there. What does Choc bring to table other than money?

Well you just told me boxing is business! K9 has a title and a reputation? Title obviously, but you are aware that his own promoter offered a purse bid of $51,000 for his last title fight? DKP put in a bid that was just 1k above the minimum you're allowed to offer under IBF rules. Clearly they had no faith in K9's reputation, or Spinks' for that matter as they promote him as well. Luckily for K9, GBP won the bid at $211,000. Under IBF rules 75% goes to the champion, so he fought for $158,000 or so.

Put it this way, Emanuel Steward - his own trainer, thought his asking price was ridiculous... So anyway, he'll now face the winner of Gabriel Rosado and Charles Whittaker, which in all likelihood will get him less of a purse than he received for the Spinks bout.

You can expect an announcement on Mundine's next opponent next week. I think people will be pretty happy with it.

Choc went on in some of his brainless rants about having to take pay cuts and fighting for nothing. But he still expects reigning champions to just drop their pants for him.

If he can't afford K9. How is he going to afford Mayweather and PacMan

This confirms that Mundine won't be able to afford to lure the big fish to his next fights as he only has small beer to hand around:

At least this is one win that won't be found on his record but the turducken does his best to play the race card!

He's not promoting the fights, a separate promotional company is. K9's asking price is absurd. End of story. A champion is worth what someone is prepared to pay them. Bundrage is no where near his correct asking price. You said it best yourself, boxing is a business.

As for "affording" Mayweather or Pacquiao, of course he couldn't. What he does bring to the market is a sizeable PPV revenue that normally is entirely his, that perhaps he can use to attract bigger fights.

You don't just fall into a fight with either of them. You need a few scalps first.

Where did I ever say he'd get it? Here's one for you. Mayweather and The Money Team have already had talks with a TV company involving Mundine. I'm not even a Choc fan, but it's clear that you have little idea how the business side of the sport works. I'm happy to give you the lesson, free of charge.

Anthony Mundine is a turkey stuffed with a duck and two chicken? That's new!

As for the Court case, "Goods in custody" is always a hard charge for Police to win.

Some opine that the Man is a turkey for ducking fights and then crying foul when his mooted opposition ignores him!

The first lesson must have been your declaration of self-importance

When you said:
"You can expect an announcement on Mundine's next opponent next week. I think people will be pretty happy with it".
You were desperately hoping people would ask who the opponent is. But people have ceased caring.

See you round scoop

Declaration of self importance or a declaration of having a slight idea how much boxers are paid and what their worth is? I ceased really caring about his career after he stayed in Australia after the second Soliman fight. The fight looks like it's been put back until March now anyway, due to his opponent having an injury.

In other news, good to see you've used the help guide and can now quote others :TU:

Good one scoop. You have made only 73 posts in over a year and 10 of them have been in the past week in this thread about Mundine

Sorry I haven't pampered your ego and asked you who his next opponent is. Perhaps someone else will come along and ask you scoop. Sit tight let's see if you have managed to evoke their curiosity

An average of only one post a week for a year and now 11 posts in a week on Choc. The numbers say it all Ipswitch Express. You are a Choc fan in denial just like I'd anticipated and you are chomping at the bit to further defend him against my legitimate criticism
