Anybody ever see him fight?

I was reading a short article that said he was a very talented fighter but was plagued by cuts around the eyes. So, does anybody know his style, if cuts caused him to lose fights, his demeanor, any amateur awards he might have won, or what he's doing since retirement (maybe a trainer?).

Any response appreciated.

Wee Walter won the ABA (Amateur Boxing Association) flyweight title in 1961.

He was a picture book boxer I suppose you'd say. Would dance around the ring firing jabs and had great skill and speed and nice footwork. His biggest flaw as mentioned was his tendency to cuts... as well as getting cuts he was I think a bleeder much like Henry Cooper was so that a relatively mediocre cut would bleed like a faucet.
I think cuts cost Walter the world title in both his fights with Chartai Chinoi.
Mcgowan also won the bantam British and Commonwealth titles beating Alan Rudkin. I think Walter was still only about 27 when he retired after winning a number of fights in a row and still a contender for titles it was surprise he retired when he did.
I read a while back that Mcgowan wasn't in the best of health and had been hospitalised unfortunately.
