Is this guy's record serious

Post by danconnollyeire »

Was looking at the rankign earlier and noticed this guy:

Fair play for all those win... didn't know this was humanly possible. Weird state of affairs, he makes Paulie Mag look like Bane. Maybe he needs some venom.

He was in the frame for a fight with Marquez earlier in the year, gone quiet on that front so assume its not happening now.

Andres Pablo Villafane must have a glass jaw to end all glass jaws since he was bowled over in the 3rd and 4th rounds by this feather fisted pugulist!

Were you really looking at the rankings? Or actualy did you just look at this thread in the Current scene.

http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=155431

The announcer would make it sound like his record is 43-1 but seriously he must have two hands that are sponges because his only stoppage was a DQ.

DQs don't go down as KOs, although I disagree with them being recorded like this.

Think there's a TKO in there too. :TU:

Remarkable record, he's got a decent rating as well. He might just be dedicated to the art of boxing, priding himself on pure skill with no intention of hurting anyone. What a story he could be.

Seen him fight a time or two on TYC sports...he's certainly no sweet scientist.

What sort of style did he have?

Noticed he's scored 6 knockdowns according to boxrec. Some weird half point scores on his record, ain't that if a round is drawn it's half a point each? Not enough rounds are scored 10-10 these days IMO.

From what I remember his fights always tended to be messy, lots of jab and hold very very unexciting.

Yep and Michael Gomez who made most of his career at Super Feather dropped him as well.

Because he has a low KO ratio doesn't mean he is shite - just check out Niccolino Locche - he was a master and had 12 KOs in something like 140 fights.

Locche and Cuenca couldn't be much more polar opposite, only thing they have in common is a nationality and a lack of power.

Terry Marsh never KO'd anyone , he had a few stoppages but no clean Ko's. there have been many top boxers with a low KO percentage, Maxie Rosenbloom had 207 wins and only 19 Ko's,

Nonsense! It's true that Locche was worlds apart from most boxers but Cuenca isn't that bad! And I wasn't comparing him to Locche as a boxer anyway, just that you can be
successful and have little power.
