Re: Froch to announce next opponent on Monday
What's the odds on it being Joe Calzaghe?

If I was Froch, I'd be banging on the door of Stieglitz - Abraham winner. Get Kessler out the way first, Bute, Stieglitz/ Abraham and then Degale to finish up. All could be done and dusted by next Christmas, nothing left to prove. You could even throw in this Poulard fella as a warm up along the way. All winnable fights with no accusation of ducking.

Postponed til the Matchroom media day on 28th, maybe gives the event a bit of extra clout rather than just being a jolly

Maybe for the suits... the paying fans on the otherhand, we'll just keep on waiting!Glyn Leach wrote:Postponed til the Matchroom media day on 28th, maybe gives the event a bit of extra clout rather than just being a jolly

I get the feeling it will be an easier night this time which you can't begrudge him. Will definitely be going as the atmosphere was great for the Bute fight.

Can't get much easier than Bute!SteveDow wrote:I get the feeling it will be an easier night this time which you can't begrudge him. Will definitely be going as the atmosphere was great for the Bute fight.
Carl looked really fresh in that fight, I thought he'd be back sooner than November. I don't like it when boxers fight every 6 months, I can understand why, just don't like it.

Suits? It's a media day and a big fight announcement makes it more of an event, something which guarantees publicity (the whole point of the exercise). Last year it was Froch-Ward, this year it will be Froch-??. The media day offers the opportunity for newspapers, TV and radio etc to interview the fighters, but I doubt that the name will be a secret by the time of the event, something will slip out before then.danconnollyeire wrote:Maybe for the suits... the paying fans on the otherhand, we'll just keep on waiting!Glyn Leach wrote:Postponed til the Matchroom media day on 28th, maybe gives the event a bit of extra clout rather than just being a jolly

Despite the statements to the contrary, I have a feeling this will be Oosthuizen.

Do Bute's team have to agree on Froch's opponent?
