Never under estimate Froch, but that loss against Kessler is going to hurt his ego a lot, it might affect his mentality to the fight game in general.
I still think he would take Abraham close, but eventually lose on points - Froch has the ability to win decisions against these guys, but he is a lazy fighter and it will cost him again in the future.

Saying that - I see a Abraham KO-ing Froch. Froch was genuinly staggered in the 8th by Kessler. Look at the replay, Froch`s legs stiffened up and he backed off very clearly.
And the point of Froch not carrying his power into world class is very much obvious now, not once did he have Pascal, Dirrel or Kessler on wobbly legs. And Taylor did what was expected and gassed it in the last few rounds which was a bigger factor in getting stopped than any real KO punch power off Froch.
And the worrying part is that Froch has been wobbled by each of these guys![]()
If Froch can get away from thinking he is this destructive one punch hitter - and concentrate on boxing Abraham, then I think he can steal a decision .. where ever the fight takes place.
froch did rock pascal and didn't he hurt kessler in the final round?
froch certainly hits hard and can take a shot.
Never once did Pascal look as if he could have gone down .. and watching the Kessler fight again, whilst Kessler was desperatly tired in the last couple rounds - he never once looked wobbled or close to touching down either. Kessler was winging punches in the last like a mad man.
Of course Froch hits hard - just not as hard as he thinks. And his chin whilst being very decent - is not granite.
Whilst Taylor was fresh - he looked the puncher of the two.

AA is the best style out there for Froch.
Froch has the respect of everyone in theBoxing Biz and
you lit slag him off. He's shown more heart and balls than
any Brit fighter in years!
He's been in some classic fights, Pascal and Kessler
are maybe the two best fights I've been at.

Don`t forget the Taylor fight. One of the best results on foreign soil by any British fighter.Hardcase wrote:AA is the best style out there for Froch.

Froch is a warrior and as Al Bernstein said after the Taylor fight, Froch due to his chin, will get to the other fighter at some level during the fight. Abraham hits hard, but his movement and workrate have to be questioned, as does his punch resistance at Super middle.
I would have Abraham a slight bookies favourite going intio the fight, but a sneaky feeling that Froch could take it.
Maybe I`m way off mark here, but for me Froch is not as skilled a boxer as he likes to believe and his best method for victory against the top guys is to do it the hard way. By this I mean stand toe to toe from the first bell and go hell for leather, banking on his strength, chin and stamina to get him the result, much like the Pascal fight. Shit or bust in other words.

The Taylor fight was a solid victory, but not one of the best wins by a British boxer in the U.S.Lets not overrate it because of the manner of the win.Taylor had lost 2 of his previous three and got sparked in the bout after. There is a case to suggest he was almost shot when Froch boxed him.He is now 1(0)-4(3) in his last five bouts.

Abraham is tough no doubt, but from what I've seen of him in the Super 6 I must be watching a different fighter to most. I don't get it. Predictable and slow to get going, I fancy Froch to do a number on him.

I don't know why the thread was bumped but reading through the some of the comments, there's some laughable stuff in retrospect. The poster Special One saw a shut out from Froch and was pretty much told he was retarded! Shows what some poster on here know!!
Re: Is there any doubt that Abraham will destroy Froch?
It's always funny seeing people get it wrong in retrospect, but you have to remember prior to the Abraham fight Froch had never shown the ability to stick to a game plan and stay out of a tear-up, which would have been a disaster against Abraham. He learnt at lot from that loss to Kessler IMO.

Read through the first few posts without looking at the date of the posts, to say my eyes were popping out is an understatement! Good fight by the German lads last night though, I had Abraham by one round, fair play to Stieglitz but he was so open to that right it was ridiculous.

Re: Is there any doubt that Abraham will destroy Froch?
I have to say I remember this fight so well in such an unusual way. I was onboard HMS Triumph when this fight was on and had to wait until something like 2 weeks after the fight before I could find out the result because the only sport news we got was the stuff that was considered major sport so premiership football and a few other bits and bobs. I remember getting off the boat onto a tug boat so that I could get to another base in time for a course I needed to do and as soon as I could get a signal to check the result I did, and when I saw that he had won I was pumping my fist (not in that way.) I was gutted I couldn't be on here to say pre fight that I thought Abraham wasn't active enough in each round, and that if Froch could indeed take Abraham's shots that he would cruise to a decision because Abraham seems to (and I haven't seen last night fight yet to be fair) only throw about 10 punches a round. With hindsight people under-rated Froch's speed, whilst he isn't the quickest he isn't the slowest either and the fact he looked very slow against Ward and Dawson may have had more to do with their height and reach combined with their speed of hand and foot. Abraham being a few inches shorter than Froch and with much shorter arms was a huge advantage which people before the fight dismissed.
I am suprised to read Stieglitz didn't put up an amazing challenge tho, if I'd been in the mood for a bet I would have though about a bet on Stieglitz who was quite a big outsider when I checked a few days back.
